Kensei is arguably one of the best balanced characters in the game, if not skewed toward being too strong.
His kit is very well put together and functions exactly how it should. He's got strong mixup potential, good speed, dodge attacks, and hyper armor. He's basically got everything, and as a vanguard that kinda makes sense in a way. But when you look at the other vanguards he definitely has more options than Raider and some more than the newly reworked Warden.
If you ask me, the only thing they need to seriously change on him is his number of invulnerable frames on his dodge attacks. He's pretty much untouchable during them, and that needs to change.
Ithink you are right.Originally Posted by SN_HowlingBeats Go to original post
After his rework, Kensei was good and up with most of the otherheros. but after all Players got used to his new movesets the things changed.
And after other Heros reworks he isnt too strong anymore.
I think he Needs just a slight adjustment or improvement.
His Stamina cost are high compared to other Heros. After only few attacks or against enemys with possibility of stamina drain he is done. so pls lower the Stamina cost a bit or increas recovery.
His heavy attacks are tooooo slow. Compared to new Warden who Needs 900 MS for top heavy (who has a heavier sword by the way :-) ) he is no thread to any enemy.
His attacks should be lowered from 1 sec to 800 ms. With this change his Pommelstrike would make sense.
Pls think about that pommelstrike is dodgeable and is followed only by a light attack. -other Heros have massiv stun ablites. compared to the ridicukous pommel strike.
They probably aren't looking to rebalance kensei at all anytime soon, to be completely honest with you guys.
They've got new reworks they're trying to roll out each season or two, they've got 4 new characters coming in a little under 2 months, and kensei all-in-all is one of the characters that has many options against a variety of characters.
Pommel strike for turtles (still gets countered by dodge attacks if they react well), hyper armor for assassins, lots of opportunities for feints, plenty of opportunities to dodge into attacks for a free superior block gb.
His main tradeoff is that his primary damage comes from his top heavy mixups, and to counter his sheer number of options they made his top heavy quite slow to compensate. This means that someone who is very quick to react can interrupt every top heavy attempt with a light attack. However, turtling as kensei is remarkably easy.
