Glad you're getting something out of it. I've been doing all this research mostly for my own benefit but I figure why not spread it around a bit? It only means better maps for everybody!

Wonder if Ubi mods could put a pin in this possibly? I think it would be a shame for the article to drop off the front page when I get tired of updating it lol

    Design Patterns in FPS Levels
    https://games.soe.ucsc.edu/sites/def...mera-ready.pdf

Looks like a paper written on the application of design patterns in regards to FPS level design.

    Game Based Storytelling
    https://www.edutopia.org/blog/game-b...matthew-farber

With scripting now a thing in our editor, I thought it might be worth sharing some articles about story telling as it relates to video games and how we can apply it to our levels. Some of these kinds of articles seem a little subjective or abstract, but a lot of story telling principles can help with the flow and design of SP levels. Storyboarding is something you may want to consider on top of level design layout sketches.

The Art of Video Game Writing
    http://theconversation.com/explainer...-writing-60376

Another bit on writing for video games. About half way through he mentions the importance of the environment and some other bits.

Haven't updated the thread for a minute. I noticed there is a lot of talk about scripting on the forums these days so I thought I would include some tutorials that I've found on scripting for FarCry 5. Some of your tutorials may even be included in here. I would like to compile all manner of resources in this thread so that people can have a one stop shop for all things map editor. If I do include some links to your tutorials I will surely include your name in the post. If I somehow neglect to do this please send me a message and I will rectify it. So, without further ado:

FallenNinja's FarCry 5 Arcade Editor Scripting Tutorials

I came across one of these that FallenNinja had posted about doing jump scares and noticed it was #9 in a series, so I thought I would post links to all of his youtube tutorials in one place for everyone's convenience. Thank you FallenNinja for making these, I've learned a lot from them myself and I hope others can benefit from these as well.
