I quit my second Ranked Match, too. Faced a full-turtle Conqueror who did nothing else than Shield Bash 50:50 in offense. After 2 rounds of this bs I told him that he should have fun cheesing his way to Grandmaster and then quit.

If your opponent leaving counted as a win then the system would become open for abuse. You could just get a bunch of friends to quit on you for an easy way to Grand Master rank.

It still counts as a loss for them unless I am mistaken and they get a 15 minute leaver's penalty.

Thanks for making this into a thread and ruining ranked the moment it released. Now everyone will constantly quit all the time. Mode completely ruined fml. Literally unplayable now. Btw the correct way to do it is to disconnect your internet / hard close the game process. Never use the ingame UI. Mentioned this months ago.. doesnt count for leaver pen and doesnt seem to affect fth stats so probably not counted as loss either.

Im not even going to tell ubisoft they should have fixed that **** because whats the point really.

He still gets a loss if he leaves. I'm not saying it's a good system I was just explaining why it might have been designed this way based on other PvP games' ranked modes.

You can't decide who to fight against in tournaments, so you can't deliberately join your friend's tournament and quit out on him to level him up. So no.

In any case it should count as a win for the leavee, because if it doesn't, THAT leaves it open to abuse. You realize that your opponent is winning, so you leave the match, because it's no different for you, but at least your opponent doesn't get the win. THAT is abuse.

I agree. That would be a better system. As for not being able to choose who you get matched with; there are ways around that and also ways to guarrantee a meeting between two IP adresses, which I will not go into. It's up to Ubi to make the change if they feel confident enough that it won't be a problem.

This needs to be changed immediately. Never mind the tiny chance of abuse by people who know each other... once the majority of the playerbase finds out there will be trolling left and right. People will quit just to screw over the player that's beating them.

I was going to play nothing but ranked mode when playing solo but now, I'm probably not going to touch it. Mode is dead in the water unless this is changed BY NEXT THURSDAY.
