Just checking in on this - curious if anyone has discovered the root cause of the C2D many people are having?
I have tried every single solution to fixing my Far Cry 5 crashing problem.
I have:
- Uninstalled and Reinstalled several different drivers
- Painstakingly removed registry entries for old drivers
- Changed DPI Scaling level
- Reinstalled the game
- Changed my PC's performance settings to High
- Disabled Link State Power Management
- Changed Power management mode in the NVidia Control Panel
- Checked overclocking (I don't overclock)
- Disabled and Enabled XMP Profiles in my bios
- Cleared the Ubisoft Cache
- Disabled unnecessary services and overlays
- Adjusted all visual settings in game
- Reset CMOS and reinstalled Windows
Game runs flawlessly on all settings, no lag, graphical bugs, software glitches - nothing. Just a C2D within 15 minutes - 1 hour with the "Oh No It crashed - submit report" prompt. All other newer Far Cry and triple A title games run without a hitch

Update
i also saw that on GTX 10 Cards we have heavy crashes with the newest Nvidia Driver 398.82
when downgrading to 398.36 it gets better but still happens from Time to time ;(
I have an old PC with GTX 760 here i dont have issues even no crashes with the latest driver !
Hello friends
I still have crashes .... BUT
I figured out (thx to Geforce forum) that going back to Nvidia Driver 391.24 reduce the crashes a lot , they still happen but not like every 10 min.
Also i reduced my resulution to 1080p (normally 4K) and set everything to ! LOW ! well not satisfying but works here i can play like 60 to 90 min without crashes
when I play COOP i don't crash at all ! only when my partner leaves it starts again .-----> Strange.
My partner dont have crashes at all it is the same System only the MB & the CPU is different ! I got Ryzen 7 1700X and he has a 7700K all other Hardware is the same !
thats what wonders me.
Every driver after 391.35 will cause crashes with nearly every ubisoft game. It's because of wddm 2.4, there is not much you can do guys. Ubisoft needs to fix this, no problem at our end. Since 5 month now every nvidia driver is causing crashes and still no fix from ubisoft. That's unbelievable, really!
Yes. I'm waiting for reply from Ubisoft about C2D -> It's like 2 weeks now. I've spent on this game 50 pounds and all I have it's crash every 5-10mins of the game.
Nothing else crashing just FC5.
The worst thing is that many people have same problem but there is no solution and Ubisoft don't know what to do.
Why are they releasing games with bugs and problems and asking for money?
