They should make each feature in Ghost mode optional so that people can disable permadeath but keep other features as they like.

Personally I don't even care about the Ghost mode achievements, I just wanna fine tune my gaming to be challenging but not frustrating. Real life is frustrating enough.

Yah, same thing happened to me then. It seems that AoE from blast radius doesn't trigger the permadeath.

Totally understandable. We'll be letting the team know that players see these options as a way to fine-tune the experience, and aren't necessarily attached to the idea of permadeath. The point of Ghost Mode is to challenge players, but I understand that permadeath means that random chance can cause hours to go to waste.

Beyond random chance, long-time bugs, glitches and quirks that were perhaps thought of as just relatively rare annoyances are now potentially game breaking in this new mode.

I've said it a couple times now, but I definitely think there should be a prestige point payout upon permadeath, directly related to level. If you make permadeath an option, then make it an option from the start that cannot be changed later so you dont have people gaming the system. Or have a couple modes...

    1. Permadeath, (Hardcore). This mode is chosen from start and can't be turned off midgame. Pays out an amount of prestige points on death related to level.
    2. Permadeath (Selectable) can turn on or off at will, but will not pay out prestige points on death. This mode is for mil-simmers.

First time posting here but I felt I needed to considering the topic and going by most the comments made so far. I personally have no problems with ghost mode and the permadeath functionality is actually being made out to be a lot worse and exaggerated by some people due to the fact they don’t want to change their approach to the game in order to succeed in this mode.

I here people talk about getting killed due to helo blowing up but honestly if you fly it right then there is no reason this will ever happen without a piloting error being made.

Dying due to flying off a motorcycle, then don’t go all motorcross with the bikes and take care when you are riding and you’ll never crash and go swimming through the air again!

Falling from height and dying, again don’t go jumping off objects that may lead to you being downed and even if it may seem tedious going around the longer way to navigate certain areas it is better then dying and having to start all over again!

I know the games not perfect but I also know a lot of these “deaths” can be avoided, I have had to learn the hard way after losing 3 characters all around level 15-20 before the penny dropped and I was more cautious in my general gameplay. I’m now sitting at Tier 47 and looking to get that gold paint job for my Exo-suit and I’ll be dammed if I’ll ruin that mission my either diving out a chopper, flying in sam heavy areas, jumping from heights, cross country riding a motorcycle, standing in road, rock climbing or any other activity/decision that may cost me my progress.

Bottom line, if it seems like it may be risky then don’t do it!!

Uh, major hole in your logic. Half of these deaths are CAUSED by ******* glitches. If a game is not working properly, users should not be blamed for such occurrences. Bottom line is game has not been working properly since Special Operations 1, and we should not be in this damn predicament, period.

Ghost Mode is a huge gutcheck for alotta folks, my team tonight, we were hitting Sicario Leaders for "Guns for Hire" and wouldnt ya know it, the guy ran, i took off after him and mayhem ensued... which ended up with 1 guy outta ammo and one guy trying to take on 10 SB convoy gunners, and me with my drone only able to reach 120m of the needed 315m(which my t1 campaign character can hit with ease).. so.. relearning limitations has been humbling

No hole in my logic, think about it like this for a second; in life you wouldn’t stand in the middle of the road with moving traffic as you know that there is a possibility that you may be run over and seriously injured or killed. You also wouldn’t jump from a height that may kill you or incapacate you would you?

To be honest the only glitches/bugs I can say are the fault of the company are the falling through the map (never expierenced it personally) and the getting stuck between rocks. Apart from that I haven’t really seen anything that I would class as “gamebreaking” in regards to this new permadeath mode at all.

However if you are honestly being effected by these glitches/bugs that are the sole reason for your deaths then that is not cool and im sorry to hear that. I 100% agree that there should be a operation health like I see someone post here so these issues you and others have experienced can be sorted I am however totally against changing the ghost mode permadeath rule.

I think the only reason why people are asking for it to be changed is "until" issues are sorted out. -- The ideas fine, but it feels like it was just dropped in there along with some other global limitations and it's not working out.

I play neverdie in T1 exclusively. I play GM on extreme. Having a lvl29 character fall through the earth, disembarking a chopper isn't cool. It's also a huge joy kill. This is ambushing a lieutenant. Weird stuff happens when the threat level is anything but passive.

We can all play at low difficulty levels and tripple-check our every move! The very fact you resort to that is a clear indication you are reacting to the same sorts of things people are complaining about. Don't be an obstacle to resolving that simply because you're too frightened to rock the boat. GM isn't going anywhere (no matter what), otherwise we may as well just play neverdie.
