Yes they can be countered. Musha is probably easier for most to dream with, he labia any true opener outside of fast light chains, but those chains have to be in a specific pattern. Learn the pattern then counter appropriately.
I run shaman regularly and I know first hand she is very, very punishable. Her second heavy and unblockables are pretty much parry bait, so always expect a feint to GB or dodge strike cancel. Predators mercy/hunger can be countered very easily by just dodging to the side, then free GB.outside of that keep guard top side to prevent fast bleed cancels and react to everything else. Her light chain starters and zone attacks are all pretty easy to react to as long as you practice.
Players honestly need to stop this immediate call for nerfs just because they lost a few rounds to a class they clearly don't understand.
It's not like going to the arena is asking you to play as the new heroes and master all their combos. Just go in to the arena as your main, and keep getting your *** handed to you until you start to see that pattern emerge in how they attack.
Hell, for added fun just give the level 3 bot unlimited stamina and watch them go full Bruce Lee on you. I think going against bots kinda makes you aware of what attacks the players are going to throw in your face.
I would like it if you could have a total of up to 4 bots to practice on.

Nerf every hero. In fact. Please remove all light attacks, all zones, unblockables, and parrying.
Please remove the following heroes:
Orochi, shaman, berserker, HIghlander, Centurion, Gladiator, Kensei, Raider, Warlord, Valk, Conqueror, Shinobi, Aramusha, PK, Shugo, Kensei, Nobushi
-remove top heavy and left heavy.
-Dodge and roll serve no purpose, remove them
-remove sprint
-remove feats
Everyone must play as warden and use right heavy attack only. The opponent warden can only right block. And so on and so forth

Now we can have some good fair play. All 4 team members must walk to point A to meet all 4 other team members who also walked.
A frantic right attack heavy marathon must take place with everyone frantically switching targets until a hit lands....completely fair. So so fun
