So I left this game after 2 months after release. Unbalanced, ping problems, high level tryhards vs 1 lvl me, it all killed this game for me. Is it worth going back now?

you gonna meet more tryhards with 50-100 reputation constantly, game still has 0 balance. 1st game i came back into was vs 4 canturions, BOY so much fun when you can't do anything because stunlock.IMO totally not worth it

There have been several balance fixes as well as new characters introduced to the game. While balance isn't anywhere near perfect it is in a much better state today than when you last played.
Today we have dedicated servers instead of the initial P2P-system. Games are A LOT more stable and while ping does still affect the gameplay it does so in the same way it affects any other game.
Tryharding is still in. Some characters has a higher cheese value than others and some players will resort to said cheat when they can't win using other means. However as the servers are pretty stable and the balance is pretty good you'll be able to get away from most of it if you just learn how.
Matchmaking has received several fixes as well and as I recently popped my old ps4-game into the machine again I was glad to see that for several matches I (rep 2) did not see a single opponent over rep 10.

Other fixes that the game has received inludes a parry overhaul, reworks on some of the original characters (with more coming), a new game mode (and another on the horison), and a gear stat overhaul.
This might all be a bit much for a returning player from the olden days such as yourself to take in all at once. I suggest you try to find a community (there are several discord-servers around) where you can find people to play with and against to get used to the new stuff.

Try it now and keep playing until a week after Season 7 drops at least. It's best to see for yourself but the game had changed a lot since then. Despite its flaws, I rate it highly.

Short answer....yes. I'm loving it. Yes there are still a few balance issues but honestly it doesn't bug me. Servers are great. I've had no problems at all. There are still frustrating days but I think that's the nature of this game

ehh probably should wait the balancing is at its worse, if your rep 100 or something you will most likely get matched with new inexperienced players.
