Matchmaking is pretty good according to these forums, so dont bother asking here either.

Well matchmaking is a hell of a lot better since Season 5 onwards in my opinion. Before Season 5 it was an utter abomination. Constantly placing new Rep 0-5 players up against veteran rep 100+ players.

Nowadays that very rarely happens, at least in my matches. I'm rep 110 and I very rarely see anyone that can be called a new player. Most of the players I encounter are between rep 70 to 190. Of course rep isn't necessarily a measure of skill. The way the matchmaking works is by comparing overall rep + kill/death ratio of the players. Keep in mind that there are a fair few players that are coming from consoles to PC (or vice versa) so their low rep level is not an obvious reflection of their actual skill level.

It happens alot lately im not even rep 1 but im getting put into games with rep 50 players and above(just today i was in a match with a rep 100), and im not great at the game my K/D is average maybe, but not good enough to be going against them. its 15 mins or whatever on just getting killed near the spawn area, and it game after game. when i first started i was getting matched with lower lvl players now its just jumped up to rep 20 or so on.

    Just rather frustrating.

This **** still happens to me on a constant...

Also, I see more people on these forums agree that the MM system is poo, than I do see them defending it.

Match making is so bad , you'd get better matches if it was random. I'm on the Xbone in Australia. Not only does it have a tiny player base, but the actual xbox tells you exactly what recent players/friends and followers are doing. The amateur programing of the MM really stands out in these conditions. Just one of many many examples. Last night there was 3 premade teams, each member were minimum 100 rep with most over 150. There were a few people playing and the time was right,so I played for a bit. Over the next 3 hours every match was against the premades(all three by the end) My teammates were between 0-30 rep all night. At no point did the Matchmaking even try to match 2 premades together, even though it had plenty of opportunity to do so. Every match the new guys would quit, leaving me with bots.Match over(they had fun) Search for match, next premade, rinse and repeat. I checked the recent player list to see if the new players were still playing. Of course not. Why would they ? Fortnite's very popular I've noticed.Solo's all leave, premades bored with massive load times now and bingo bango, it's 2300 , and no one's playing. Just one example of many. But pointing out these faults are completely useless on this forum Akumu4ever. You'll find these threads about MM almost daily for over a year. I'm pretty sure most regular players now understand that the devs have tried but this is the best they can do. The games foundation will be forever flawed. They'll keep dumping stuff on top until people stop buying steel, but it is what it is. This forum is more about costumes, emotes and executions. That, they can do.

Yea that's one of the downsides of region locked matchmaking. It does not matter what your NAT is you are going to run into the same people you see every day that plays this game on a regular basis.

Would love if this game was like Monster Hunter World, where you can play with people from all over the world. I know there's alot of technial issues behind that but it's very frustrating when you see a mode have "Very High Activity" it means alot of people are playing this game and you will only queue up with maybe less than 1% of that and only that.

    No it's not.

    - Matchmaking still happens before players pick their hero. As soon someone picks a hero other than his "main", his team gets a big handicap.

    - Matchmaking still allows 4 man groups to run into solo players.

    - Matchmaking relaxation is still worried about finding a game within a reasonable amount of time, thus sometime it will match unskilled players with skilled ones just because "enough time has passed". Further more, sometime the game will just start even when there are Bots in one or both team. This is especially problematic when a team of 4 grouped players run into teams of 3 solo player + a bot ... queue the chain leaving without penalty and that 4 man will never get a decent match going as long as they are together.

Matchmaking is a joke. Points 1 and 2 are poor design decision that I can't believe passed the Q&A tests.
