I want to start this by saying thank you to the dev team. You guys have really made a game that I and my friends love.
With that said, TU15 has me really disappointed. To me, the worst bit has to be with the season pass. I understand enough about coding to know that it is always one step forward, two steps back: bugs happen. I would think QA would catch all the issues that made it into the patch, but I get that things make it through. While I don't believe a free pass is in order, community forgiveness defiantly is if these issues can be patched out.
On an entirely separate note, I am extraordinarily dissapointed with the R6S pack not being included with the Year 2 Pass. I am well aware that it was not explicitly stated at the time of purchase, but I believe that it was implied that there would be more to come. And I know I am not the only one to feel this way, as I have seen this sentiment echoed throughout the community since Special Operation 2 went live. I, personally, saw an opportunity with the Year 2 Pass to support the devs that made this game I love. I saw an opportunity to show I wanted more content. While that content is on going with Ghost War, I can't help but feel that it is a tacked on game mode and that PvE is what I, and, from my best guess, most players stick around for. You guys worked hard and made Operations Watchman and Archangel, both of which aren't really up my alley (I would love some more of the type of thing we got with El Commendate in Media Luna, but that's a personal gripe), but both are fairly well made.
You also did a good job with the Splintercell Pack, and while not much on its own, I thought that throughout the course of the year, getting 3 more similar packs would add up to money well spend to support you guys. When I heard that the 416 would be part of the R6S pack, I was ecstatic. When I saw the new weapons in the trailer, I was over the moon. I feel a mix of being betrayed and upset with myself for letting myself get excited. I don't think that making your players feel this way is an ok way to go in the slightest. I was hopping for some in game missions to earn these new weapons. Even if the intention was to drop them behind a pay wall, I expected that they would be given to those of us that fronted you the money by buying the Year 2 Pass. The R6S pack was a no brainer, that had to be coming our way. Imagine my chagrin when I found out I had been duped. And again, I'll restate the fact that nothing was explicitly stated in the description at purchase, but community consensus was that there would be more. Shame on us for believing the reason that nothing was stated was because it wasn't ready to be announced yet.
Overall, the content made was good (its delivery was anything but). However, I can't help but feel that there were easy things that could have been don't for no other reason than keeping us players happy. Short barrels for some guns, long barrels for others, 12x scopes, bipods (no altogether sure as to the ease of the mechanics behind this one), and dumb things like single fire for the R5 in PvE. Those kinds of things means a lot to us. Even tossing out some free military camos (not more hunting camos) and some tac-vests like the crye combat plate carrier that people have been begging for.
As a community, we enjoy this game, that's why we play it. Will I continue to play? Yes. Am I very disappointed with how everything is being handled (and I understand that the front office has a big hand in that)? Yes. I, as I person who loves the game you have made, ask you to please make this right.
And to finish, I want to say thank you for making a game that my friends and I have enjoyed for hundreds upon hundreds of hours. Truly, thank you.
P.S. Pink Floyd's Money came on as I wrote this, which was too poetic not to share.
