so its been 5 days now that ive been troubleshooting rainbow six siege. it all started randomly one day. about a week earlier i had just done a completely fresh install of windows 10. siege was one of the first games i reinstalled. i was playing earlier in the day just fine. no updates came out nothing settings wise changed. suddenly the game wouldnt exit properly and i had to kill the process in task manager whenever i wanted to quit playing. i figured fine stuff happens i can live with that. then suddenly steam started saying it was trying to launch with some BE parameters. again i was fine with it as long as the game worked. then shortly after i got the error about be service not running and i couldnt play online suddenly. well now it wont even launch or show any error. it just acts as if it didnt open. steam launches uplay. it acts like its going to launch the game then it just doesent. uplay stays open. nothing happens. ive been back and forth with tech support and nothing at all has helped. ive uninstalled and reinstalled the game, uplay launcher, and be service multiple times. ive verified everything. gotten fresh installs of uplay and be. ive tried messing with the be service startup types. ive installed completely fresh redistributables. ive launched everything as admin. nothing is working. i still at square one.
so when i try to launch the game. windows asks if its fine to launch. i say ok. then steam pops up saying "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is attempting to launch with optional parameters shown below. "=uplay_steam_mode/belaunch -be"" i click ok. usually it just doesent do anything then and i have to manually close uplay to try again. but sometimes it will launch R6S but whenever i try to play multiplayer it gives me the 0x0-00001001 error code saying battle eye service is not running. i check my services and its reset itsself to manual startup. ok so i change it back to auto and then the game wont launch ever and i have to reinstall everything again to even launch the game to get the battle eye error. im just at a loss. tech support hasnt helped the issue at all. this is the only game ive had issues with like this before. im starting to get really annoyed that i just randomly cant play a game i bought.
i dont use antivirus. so no. but today i decided to try downloading pubg and fortnite as they both also use battle eye to try to narrow it down. fortnite worked fine no issues. then i tried pubg and it came up with an error saying "Failed to read initialization file." then i started getting that same error with siege now. i just keep running into more and more issues with no progress or directions to go.

thanks for the reply. so i went through the FAQ page and ive already tried everything on there multiple times except uninstalling through uplay, since ive always used steam. so why not, i went to open uplay but it wouldnt open for some reason. ive installed another fresh uplay installation and i will try to uninstall and reinstall the game from there this time just incase. i also havnt tried the test server so while im at it i will download the test server to try it as well. i doubt anything will change but if it does i will definitely update with any new information.
update: i have never set up any restore points but i decided to restore windows to a version i didnt have rainbow six installed on. after restoring and reinstalling rainbow six as i normally would do. i first tried to launch from the uplay launcher to which the same things happened. nothing but R6 would start under background processes. i quit the process and tried to start from steam. steam popped up with the same "=uplay_steam_mode/belaunch -be" prerequisite error. but i clicked through it and the game launched. i decided to try multiplayer out of curiosity and got a new error code i havnt seen. the code is [2-0x0000C019].

ok so i just went through and did everything on that network troubleshoot faq. the only thing im not sure about is the port forwarding. i was able to set up port forwarding but it seemed to max out at 7 ports. which means only half of what it says is needed. ive never done any sort of port forwarding so i may have just done it wrong but i have no idea. everything else seemed to work as i expected. but still no change in how the game is behaving.
