But really tho this is not what we meant

I am mildly amused by how excited everyone was yesterday and how furious they are today.
Not because I enjoy other people's misery, just the situation really.
The hope and joy and anticipation were so palpable mere hours ago!
Now everyone is so miserable.
I actually find myself feeling sorry for Ubi devs and mods who were clearly quite excited to bring us something they thought we'd love, then how quickly we turned on them.
Or, well, not me personally, I'm more or less satisfied with this update---except being locked out of my 30 round P mags all of a sudden, doh---but we as a community have been pretty brutal today.
Anyone ever watch The Guild? That webseries based on Felicia Day's addiction to WoW? In the last season or two she goes to work for "Blizzard" or whatever madeup similar company makes "The Game", and there are quite a few scenes that really stuck with me where the chief dev pours his heart out about how much he tries to do for fans and how much they tear him to pieces.
A lot of the grievances I've seen here today are legitimate, don't get me wrong. But I also thing the level of rhetoric against the devs can get out of hand sometimes.
It's easy to be cynical and imagine Ubisoft as some sort of Hollywood for gaming who just want to bust blocks and rake in cash, but I think almost certainly the majority of people who work on these games aren't out for money, they really want to create something wonderful and make people happy.
I feel like a lot of love has gone into this game and continues to do so.
Sometimes things get overhyped and community expectations are dashed.
But I guess I just think we'd all do a bit better to give each other the benefit of the doubt. Start from a place of at least believing that Ubisoft devs are acting in good faith and genuinely care about what they create and our enjoyment of it.
Impossible to please everyone, but I genuinely think they are doing their best.
Don't stop asking for what you want. But keep in mind that what we've got is already something wondrous, bugs and all.
Just my thoughts on the matter.
No. They said this would be a pve focused update. There are some very serious bugs in the game. But hey we got the r5 and karambit to work. No the dev's deserve all the hate they are getting. The pve players. GOT ONE item that they requested. ONE. No bugs were actually worked on. Pvp got more love than pve did. They deserve the hate.
I may feel some sorrow for the Devs because after all they may not have the power to speak up but I feel a whole new level of disdain for UBI and specially that so called Gamer First CEO that has the two face to come out on video only to not have the balls to stop this nonsense with the huge patches, glitches, bugs while rejoicing on all the money he just made by this fiasco. Then again... Meh! in a few months, we will be exactly right here again with the majority of you guys all excited about SO3 only to rid the forum with hate and frustration.
It's only natural.Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
I mean, so far I see amongst the drivel and Battle Royal bullsh*t requests, some people are actually paying attention to things and drop their feedback.
I've seen 100x way worse than this in another gaming community that they would solely sh*tposts about everything, spread false information, and anything else you wouldn't think an adult with a life and sanity would do.
This is an outright lie.Originally Posted by jonathan_192 Go to original post
In what way is it a lie? Of all the bugs fixed, the only thing that is noticeable is Operation Watchman no longer keeping you in Groundhog Day. We still have problems with squad A.I. working properly, but nothing about the “teammates detected while player is talking to Sam Fisher” bug. The icon changing players gender feels like a non-announcement to me,Originally Posted by Ghost416 Go to original post
What money was that? The update was free.Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
If you're talking about the new theme pack, whilst I agree the short barrel should be an option, nobody has to or had to buy that pack. The notion that any new PvE content items should come with the yr 2 pass is wrong in my view. If there had been no pack at all, nobody would be the wiser and there would be no complaints; what you got for the pass was absolutely clear when it came out.
There are some pretty genuine concerns about some aspects of the update, that have totally overshadowed any good that it has done for sure, but this is not a rip-off. Nobody has to buy anything to get the new content other than for those that want to buy the theme pack and that is their call. Definitely Ubisoft could have done better, but at the moment they are probably thinking that doing nothing is a better option than giving out free updates if this is the reaction that they get.

I requested that Tactical Shemagh like what Valkyrie has few months ago and now it's in.....
.... the 2800 Rainbow Six Pack.
Nice one, Ubi. I appreciate the unlockable Caviera Knife CQC, but I'm not jumping into that sales of yours. Add it to Year 2 Pass instead and we will probably talk.
