I love the Deimos Crossbow and often use it in the 330m to 100m range for sniping. It is dead silent, deadly and powerful. You can take out a generator with one shot as an example. I believe it will one shot all NPC's also though I won't swear to that. It is also capable of longer range shots, though due to the lack of hash marks it is something of a judgement call on range. To help, I doped out the scope and got the following results. The range from 0-300m are fairly precise with some practice. Past 300m is quite possible but will definitely take some practice to 'calibrate' your eye. Here is the scope dope.

And here is a practice shot at ~550m. I was at Montuyoc Bravo, or near there really and took aim at the helicopter crew down inside Laguna Colorado.
