I hate deleting maps because out of room. For map builders i would say unlimited but any increase would be great it forces me to publish maps im still working on because i have no room im working on like 20 maps at once and saving ideas for future set ups. It would really help.
Go into your Document\My Games\Far Cry 5\user maps folder
There are all the maps you have in the Editor.
Cut and Paste into a different Folder somewhere to save until you need them
Move them back into the user maps folder when you are going to work on them
Only keep 10 or so maps in the user maps folder at any one time.
Quality over quantity every time. to make great maps your attention must be focused on one project/map at a time imo. your mind should be consumed by the map theme. you dont want your mind full of all kinds of maps and themes, you need focus. if you keep jumping from project to project with parts of maps unfinished here and there the quality will suffer. a great map idea will keep you locked in and excited from start to finish. if you keep jumping from one unfinished project to another, this means none are exciting enough to keep you interested for long periods. quality over quantity. start and finish a map before you start the next. each map needs your FULL attention from start to finish without distractions from other projects imo.
I see why the community puts out so little maps if thats whats everyones doing one map for three months. I am an idea man and you dont forget about an idea because your one map needs to be worked on. The best map builders go back to maps when they have a better idea for the map.
The problem aw lost solider is people have such basic ideas and they spend all there time working on one map that is only going to get played once. I made a walmart map and last night wanted a future walmart map where walmart takes over and makes the world there slave. well spent about 7 hours remixing a old map i had but had to published that to make room map was not complete but very workable in future. It got 3 and a half stars.
We need more map storage Ubisoft! I am a massaive map builder not a one map builder. I hear people say they worked on one map for 3 months great you have no ideas but a montana city with no theme.
Take Black Gold for instance the builder worked on it and only it well it may be featured but it doesn't mean i ever want to play it.
I love interesting maps were people take chances on. The public can eat crap i dont care this game is about new ideas And Ubisoft knows that.I
Try building some of my maps i would love a collaboration or just to see a remix. i have many unpublished maps i dont want to give away a couple brilliant ideas that are taking me awhile to make.
All my maps take at least 15 or so hours give or take some 30 hours.
But all what I said is besides the point to figure out the best map arrangement you must mess with ideas and those take uproom and then those small map ideas turn into maps so you run out of room quick.
If anyone wants to take anyone of my 50 published maps and improve on them be my guest i would love that. I think the best maps are made by multiple people because you need a new perspective.
And to get a new perspective one must experiment constantly.
i am on ps4 check out my maps they aren't all anything to brag about i just love building but there are about 10 really good ones. And 40 ok experiment modes and more to come. My goal is to perfect the maps over time and host lobbies full of my maps that are good. Checkout my last two maps stargate and wal-mart rollback. Simpsons map rick and morty map and also riddick map working on as well as old orchard beach to name a few. And it gets easier with the new assets that they keep releasing.
Keep releasing new assets and more maps will keep rolling out.
Not one map but hopefully another 50 by the end of the year.
I wouldn't be surprised if the limit comes from Sony. I know for other games they have a size limit on extra content that can be added via players. I feel for you, but I also kinda feel like 50 is probably more than enough for most purposes. There's nothing wrong with how you make maps, but it is kind of out of the ordinary, so it might be on you to take the extraordinary steps to compensate for its limits.
