Thought this was a joke post at first but nevermind. You’re horrible at the game if you think centurion is good. Not being mean, this is just a fact. In 1v1 at even mediocre level play he is dog****. In 4v4 he’s actually pretty good, but pales in comparison to other heroes. If anything, centurion needs a buff
I love how people just put their statement out there without any explanation. If he's so bad, pls tell us why and give advice to those who don't stand a chance against him.
I heard a lot of times that the Cent becomes more and more useless as you climb up the elo, but to be honest - For Honor is a very hard game, especially for casual players, and considering changes shouldn't be thought from the top of the food chain but also from the bottom. And honestly, I can't see it, why he would suck. So an explanation would be nice. Nobody here is playiong in the theory, where a lot of stuff works, but in practice and the struggle is real.
The argument can't be "just parry his first heavy or kick and you're fine". If it's not possible to break a chain, it's op and needs to be fixed. And to feel anger about a buff which isn't needed is understandable.
the problem with him is that he's one of the most furiating classes to fight when he gets you. his punish is too powerful for your mistakes. he's pretty easy to fight but one mistake and you can pretty much go pop a bag of popcorn while he does 9 moves in a row to you while you watch him bash your **** in in rage. then if your still alive and u mess up again your dead. so some games you don't actually get to control your hero at all until the next round. yea the problem is he's not so op but the time he takes you away from being able to do anything. he needs a rework where his combo doesn't take you out of the fight for so long. this is why everyone hates him and the shamans bite. anything that takes your control away for too long makes you very frustrated.
I guess I'll try to explain then...
Less experienced players find him frustrating because he has very long combos that drain your stamina, he feints his heavies into GBs and throws you into a wall for that cutscene that everyone hates. Your stamina is gone and then he finishes you off if you aren't already dead.
More experienced players however, find him to be weak. With practice, his kick is fairly easy to dodge and his punch is a joke. If he happens to land a kick, all he will get is a measly light attack. Against any skilled player, his combo stops there 95% of the time. His only other move is feinting heavies into GBs. Against a skilled player, all of them will be an easy block or counter gaurd break. They are easy because you are able to block while being mentally prepared for him to try to grab you. It is a lot more rare that they are ever able to even do their cutscene and when they do, it isn't the end of the match. Cent doesn't have a decently reliable way to get damage at higher level play.
If you are struggling with Cent, my advice would be to practice against his kicks. Block all of his attacks and don't try to parry because any good Cent is going to try to throw them out with different levels of being charged and you will miss the timing, and be prepared to counter gaurd break anytime he throws out a heavy.
High-level play this, high-level play that.Originally Posted by Meanpie13 Go to original post
He just needs 1 parry to finish you off, high or low-level play.
He can kill any opponent with one stamina bar in duel (that means no stats buff), high or low-level play.
His lights cost 6 STAMINA, 6!!!! (even if they do not connect), high or low-level play.
His punch takes 40 STM at the cost of 12!!!!!! granting a heavy, high or low-level play.
His typical combo gets 95 of HP guaranteed, high or low-level play...
And let us not forget that he can keep you OoS with his unblockables basically forever...
How many unblockables does he have btw? What about the rest of the characters? High or low-level play.
Even if it was true that Centurion is a piece of cake for high-level play... Well, I would say he needs a rework in order to be easy at low-level play and difficult at high-level play, don't you think?

I doubt he can hit off even half of any characters health with one stamina bar.
His lights deal about 13 damage, and are among the weakest lights.
His punch is not granting a heavy (never did by the way, there was the wallsplat ******** back then, but it always guaranteed a light), and if you dodge it, you either get a free dodge attack, or a free guardbreak if the heavy did not stagger you (high level centurions barely use it if not guaranteed).
65 damage is the most he gets guaranteed if he throws you into a wall. That still sucks as it is the strongest punish in the game, but not that strong. 95 damage is almost four bars of health.
And no, he can not keep you out of stamina forever. Prepare to dodge his kicks and punches, block him, and parry the unblockable heavy if he throws it out (it's unfeintable at that point, you have almost a full second to prepare for it). It's like a four move quick time event on low difficulty, if you fight at least a few centurions, it won't give you trouble.
Depending on how you count, I think he has four unblockables. The kick, while guarantees a light, is easily dodgable and every dodge attack will land every time against it. The normal punch, which guarantees a light, and while not that easy to dodge if the heavy hit you, it's still more than possible. His charged punch, which is only guaranteed if you are pinned, otherwise it's a stupidly easy dodge (deals 35 damage or 40 if you unlock or have a wall, but others have better moves than this). And the charged heavy, which is probably the worse since it's unfeintable from the moment it gets the unblockable property.
Basic dodges and blocks beat this character, if a player struggle against him, he will struggle against almost anyone. There are about 7 characters with 400ms lights, the conqueror (a better centurion version) and fighting a highlander or kensei can suck too if they now their thing (some people are also pretty angry for the new warden, but let it cool down a bit). The centurion is doing what they do a bit faster, he needs only two charged heavies, but he is really easy to beat, you don't even have to parry anything but the unfeintable charged heavy. He also has one of the lowest light parry punishes, so an orochi can spam him quite safely if he wants to (and they almost always want to).
I don't really like to fight cents because most of them just turtles and they are really strong near walls, but the fact that the fights are boring doesn't change the fact that he is weak. Probably only stronger than the shugoki and maybe the nobushi, and both of them has a quite easy time against him (low light parry punish and no way to punish the kick/unable to use his kit against the armor).

Maybe I misunderstood, so did you mean that he can kill a character with a full stamina bar without exhaustion? Because I am pretty sure that everyone can do that on paper.
In the first clip, I can't really see what's happening. My first guess was that the valkyrie simply didn't bother dodging, but she seemed to be staggered when punched into the wall, so maybe it's a prenerf clip. The punch shouldn't guarantee a heavy, everyone blocks it.
I did not include dominion, because some feats just make the game suck, and haymaker is one of them, though I think you should have been able to block the second zone hit. There are feats that kill you instantly with the right stats (sharpen blade for example with the new valk out of stamina punish), so it's not a cent thing. He shouldn't have that on the pommel bashes, but that doesn't mean that the char is good.
