First off i wanted to thank the devs for listening to us and bringing the Hk 416 to the game, creating a thrilling R6S mission, Ghost mode and new cosmetics.
Now onto the theme of this thread.
There are a few things which players have been complaining about since the start, that still isn't fixed and breaks immersion. These are things that are easy to implement, but it seems the devs aren't even looking at the forums and that the only knowledge they have of what the community wants, is what the community managers pass along.
Things like a short barrel option for the M4A1 (and now 416), fix the shade of the rails on the Fast Ballistic Helmet, fix the panoramic NVGs which are waaaaay to flipped over (this is really stupid and annoyingly wrong), Semi Auto for the R5 RGP (what were the dev/devs thinking?), R5 RGP paint won't stay when you get out of gunsmith, already unlocked magazines suddenly disappear, and doesn't exist in the world for you to pick up unlock again.
Now lets address the new 416 (HK 416). In-game there is no short barrel option. I'm guessing the dev/devs working on this is French, and based this of the HK 416F (French version of the HK416). The HK416F is way more common with an 11" barrel (short barrel) and 14,5" (standard barrel) than a 16"inch one (long barrel), still some brilliant guy decided "ah lets just slap a new design on the old P416 and keep everything else the same, who cares about a short barrel anyway."
This isn't even a request or suggestion, this is a complaint about the authenticity, which supposedly was really important before the game was released. The GST (Group for Specialized Tactics - Ghosts) is a unit within JSOC. JSOC operators get issued the HK416 with a short barrel, but still who cares about authenticity right?
As i mentioned, this is just a reskin of the P416 (Audio/size/attachments) so the same problem with the T-1 Micro & G33 scope goes here: in gunsmith the attachment appears to be placed the same place as the EXPS & G33, but when you exit gunsmith the optics moves onto the hand guard and looks straight up goofy.
I didn't mean to come of rude, and if i did then i apologize. I've spent a lot of money on the game, and the fact that the R6S pack isn't included with the year 2 pass annoys me. As well as the stuff they haven't fixed (over a year after launch). I still have faith in the devs however, and hope they'll do something about these issues in Special Operation 3 and 4, although that is way to long to wait for simple fixes, but i guess you just want to make the patch notes page as long as possible...
Somebody in a different thread said the forward position of the optics is to allow a player to wear NODs that flip down without the two things clipping into each other.
Guess it does look a little goofy to run optics so far forward on a weapon, but plenty of shooters in the physical world do that, and in any case I think clipping with NODs would be goofier.
Lesser of two evils sort of thing, I guess.
It's not though, it's a glitch and it doesn't happen with the other magnified red dots. In the real world, you don't use night vision with magnified optics, that's what IR lasers are for, as i mentioned in the thread you're talking aboutOriginally Posted by non-exist-ent Go to original post
Pretty sure it was me Non-Exist-Ent was referring to. The Aimpoint/Magnifier thing is definitely a bug, I just stated that I liked it that way for the reason he said.
guys.. I didn't think it could get worse.. When you use the iron sights with the HK416, they aren't even flipped up, will post picture
I'd laugh if it wouldn't be so sad -.-Originally Posted by TheSgtUltra Go to original post
Good thing I prefer optics.
I also noticed that the 416 is the HK416F variant recently adopted by the French armed forces.
Sadly any fixes, or changes, will be incoming in about 3 months time minimum, but keep listing them. The R5 camo bug appears to be now fixed with this patch.
