    They are satisfying.

Since we are talking about CQC, I just wanna say that I think they shouldn't follow Caveira glove's way of CQC in the future. Compared to other types, the Caveira CQC animation is longer, rich in sequential steps but it looks squeezed to be shorter then it meant to be, cutting high on the principles of anticipation and exaggeration (to avoid unnatural turbo movements), and resulted in a cheap looking and lack of impact movements to the point where some stabbing part looks like tapping instead.

Normally, staying longer in dangerous in this game. Caveira gloves are the most dangerous to use when enemies are nearby or when performing rush CQC (performing in hunted/engaged status) due to its longer time consuming. A brief, simpler quick hand CQC is better in fast paced game. But if the choreography of the CQC sequence is meant to be longer, then keep it as is. At least that's from my experience so far.

Just a lazy animation especially with its rear attack. Being stabbed in the neck is a pretty dramatic series of events but here, it gets chalked up to checking a sandbag's pulse.
Like everything else, the Caveira gloves were a good concept but got Ubiexecuted.

I agree with your sentiment. As the same happened with some of the FG knife animations - they did not linger, and that animation seemed like it skipped frames, resulting in stiff jerky movement that was over too quickly.

So far, I think the Karambit and the Predator blades have been the best with regard to animation (outside of the original CQC). The Predator blades were good as they would often linger after you stabbed a guy with them, which made them satisfying to use.

However, I thought the Caveria gloves were absolutely awful. The animation was terrible, especially at the end where its like you’re giving a sick dog a rabies jab to the neck - it was pathetic. You touch the neck with the knife. It looked stupid. And there was only about 2 measly kill animations. It was disappointing.

I understand what your saying Kane with regard to ‘length’ of the animation tho.

That’s why I posted MAFIA III kill animations, I think they’re a good point of reference. They’re satisfying, visceral kill animations...

Yeah, there should be some much shorter and simpler melee kills. Something along the lines of simply putting your hand over a bad guy's mouth and jamming your knife into his neck. Like what Bruce Willis does to a Nigerian soldier in one scene in Tears of the Sun.

It was drawn out a bit in the movie for dramatic purposes, but I'm sure most of you know what I mean.

I'm a big fan of "Sneak up and shoot them in the head" melee anims. Like the ones in Future Soldier, haven't seen anything like that in any other game and I felt that was super cool...the way your character would start sneaking when close and aim his weapon at the NPC's head.
