Bobby Gibbes' Me109 was described as a G-6 and it was a Me109 with a black 6 serial number after restoration in Britain where it stayed...If there were G-6s at El Alamein we may have a case of different aircraft with serial 6 or if there were non at El Alamein the same aircraft has been misidentified either at the British or Australian end.
Then again the restorers may have made a G-2 out of a G-6

Thanks for the pics!
I'm probably alone here, but I've always felt the E was the best looking of the 109s, great to see one flying with an authentic DB engine!
