This. Boneheaded decisions like this is why there are major complaints against the devs. I’ve already been turned off from completing the game a second time because of this. Operation Watchman also exacerbated these problems.Originally Posted by mezzatron Go to original post
Ahh you see, when you haven't actually been involved with aircraft or military equipment you don't know these fine details. Thanks.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
But as you mentioned, it opens up for more gameplay mechanics, interrogating ground crew for the code. You could still take the plane without the code too. But by finding someone who knows the code would help you immensely with the mission.
Exactly right! It would have been a great mechanic and cut out a lot of the SAM criticism. The codes could change every day, so you'd essentially have air freedom for a game day.Originally Posted by mezzatron Go to original post
Flying around over a base. "Hey, what time is it?" ... "Just hit midnight" .... "tishballs"
With the expection of falling through the floor most of the "stupid deaths" are easily avoidable.
AA missles are easily avoided by simply bailing out with parachute or removing the SAM sites beforehand. Or simply dont fly in a AA heavy area
Biking is wonky, but still if you drive like a normal person and dont jump of any cliffs you should be fine, ( I would just avoid bikes at all cost). Its not a perfect solution, but its there.
Getting driven over, you should have learned in school not to play in traffic. Simply dont fight in the main road, and watch both sides before crossing.
Unless its a really bad glitch, dying from these "STUPID DEATHS" are 100% the players fault.
I like the idea of codes for avoiding SAMs though.
Obviously the game should be stable and all glitches should be fixed, but It just seems people are over exaggerating the many ways of dying. I have only played 308 hours, which to many is a low amount, but I have never encountered a glitch that costed me a death. Stuck sure, but then you can just FT to a nearby safehouse.
Sure it is but how do you know they didn't do it on their way out? I mean, playing devil's advocate... the Devs didn't program it so we only have your/their excuse. And I mean excuse because we don't get to see the other side of the token, only their mediocre way of doing things or you covering for it.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
Now, more devil's advocate... the plane is in their hangar, nobody has touched it, allegedly one of their crew will fly it to meet another dude (IIRC) so, wouldn't be logical to think that the correct IFF code is already inserted into the system? If not, because in real life you must insert it every time the plane is turn on (I also don't know anything about planes but I doubt a crop duster comes with such an advance technology or even if this could be considered advanced technology.) and as I stated above, wouldn't be within the game's realm situation that they did get that code before flying away? After all, we are not talking about 4 punks stealing a plane from a well guarded base to go on a joy ride.
I also agree that doing those changes it would would have opened up a better gameplay of the game.
One thing is for sure, having this great and beautiful world and not been able to appreciate it by doing a once fly over is just nuts and whomever din't come with that decision should be sent home for a week w/o pay![]()
If there's a gun fight on the street between what seems to be USA soldiers and 20+ cartel members, would you drive ahead? Or turn back?Originally Posted by Gullis. Go to original post
Where's the logic in speeding through? Only if you have low IQ like the AI in this game you would decide to drive through a firefight to risk your life. And let's say some people would stupidly drive through. But most civilians would be too afraid to go anywhere near firefights. So no, they should've programmed the AI to make smarter decisions.
Falling through the world, although not common, still can happen. < Not the player's fault.
The game isn't as perfect as you'd think. So I don't agree that it's 100% the player's fault.
I won't be using motorbikes, and have already thought about taking the longer route to deliver planes.
But I'm pretty sure I'll come across a bug that will kill me in 30 hours of the campaign.
I can tell you that these same people that may not even be able to read and write but live in conflict zones are the smartest people you will even encounter when dealing with everyday things... Have you ever seen how a street dog barely gets hit by a moving vehicle in the street but you household pet can get run over as soon as you open the door of your house? Street smarts go along way in places like this so yes.
1.- If you are in a firefight, the first thing humble/poor people will do is get the hell away from there... or duck ... or find the nearest safe place to hide until the dust has settled.
2.- If they are driving, they will not wait inside their vehicle until it gets blown up, they will either A.- hit reverse and get the hell out of there or B.- get out of the car and get the hell out of there.
3.- They know the difference, perhaps better than even Unidad trained Soldiers the difference between weapon sounds and fireworks.
They may be poor but not stupid.
You have to key in the IFF code and your own ID. You know if you get it wrong, so in that respect the Ghosts would know they'd have to physically disable the SAMsOriginally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
Also IFF works so that the crop duster would get blown up. Everything is hostile unless it can prove it isn't.
Fine... but you still did not answered my questions... all you did was circumvent them and post what you wanted to make your point
Where does it say in the game that YOU MUST insert the IFF code plus the ID... it is all an assumption on your part or the part of what the devs told you but... AN ASSUMPTION NONETHELESS
Being Ghosts, wouldn't they know that going in or... not because the devs say so! And if so... wouldn't this only happen once being that they are the best of what they do? or again... NO because the devs did not implement this part into the game.
And what happens when that flaming wreck you just bailed out of, lands on your head? Is that your fault? What about those side missions that intentionally place you in harms way, like stealing a plane in one province, and required to fly it to a landing strip in another province, littered with Sam sites?Originally Posted by Gullis.
