Yes, you can be revived twice, them death. People are going to find that it's not that hard to killed, once they are fighting the endless waves of Unidad, and they hit alert level 4. The Gunships can instantly kill you if you're in a vehicle. No revives, just instant death. And if you happen to be in a province with no coverage, running is out of the question, because they'll just keep following you. And now you won't even be able to switch to the HTI, to take them out.
Its no different then hardcore modes in like diablo games etc I'm fine with the permanent death I'm just not fine with permanent death tied to being incapacitated by a team mate and left for dead. People who publically queue because they may not have friends or enjoy just meeting people in public queues can easily be griefed by that mechanic. If it wasn't for friendly fire I would love the mode, because you have to play smarter, harder. And very tactically with your friends to do certain missions. It also makes it where having people specialized roles makes a bigger difference. With only one primary gun you need someone doing overwatch and sniping, you need some cqb assault role, you need someone playing it safe with a medic drone as backup etc....
I'm excited for the mode otherwise but I dont have 3 other people I trust to play with, only 1 other and some missions really do need 4 people to tackle imo, especially If your starting from scratch again. I just dont want to put in 2 months worth of work and some 14 yr old on a I want to grief and troll spree queues in a public match trying to get 2 more for a hard mission and kill me with friendly fire just because or just to hear the reaction over voice etc...
But honestly, even if you don't get taken down by FF, and are playing with people you know, do you really think that they are going to risk permadeath, and lose all their progress, just to revive you in the middle of a firefight? I don't even think I could expect my son to risk his character, just to save mine, let alone someone who I only met online.
The medic drone is probably the very first skill I'm going to pop it all my resources to unlocking first for that exact reason. But good planning and team synergy will help a lot with that too.Originally Posted by Megalodon26 Go to original post
I have my reservations about it, but I'll judge it when it drops. As for communication on what is being developed yes I agree there should be more input and feedback. But, and this is the but, this is only drop 2 of 4 this year I believe, and this is a really big feature they have introduced. Good job devs
It's so close to launch now I think the best thing to do is just play and it and see.
With respect to griefing players intentionally killing team mates I think a way to counter this is have each players stats visible before you actually team up with them. An account wide stat for ghost mode. So if someone is prone to griefing it will be visible even with new characters.
I thought about that as well and it was one of the reasons I wanted FF implemented since release. IMO, it could have been a great feature while GW was still in development as I'm sure the community would find creative ways to make their own PvP experiences in the GRW open world.Originally Posted by the5timechamp Go to original post
Too bad FF is stuck behind this Ghost Mode. While folks could still do things it would essentially have to be with the limited loadout they have at the beginning. These features really need to be options in the main game as well.
1. Falling from a bike and faceplanting, dead;
2. Being run over by crazy civilians, dead;
3. Falling through the world, dead;
4. Rebels should have an option to be turned off also as they interrupt stealthy missions.
5. Rebels do also run you over at times.
6. Also the following mission doesn't make sense:
You are required to hijack a Unidad plane. You hijack it, but then while delivering the plane Unidad SAM sites target their own plane... Really?
Last time I remember I did this mission on Extreme, I dodged 4 missiles, by luck.
Above mentioned issues should be fixed before any 'permadeath' is implemented.
On a side note, this is why it is better to let the community know about what the developers are working on. So the community can collectively contribute, and the players who know of these issues can point them out.
What was the whole point of keeping this info from the players?
That's how it works in real life. If you don't put the right code into the IFF system, which you wouldn't know if you just stole the plane, then you'll get targeted. I'd have liked to see a mechanic in the game where you interrogated a ground crew technician or hacked a computer for the code as an option.Originally Posted by mezzatron Go to original post
Note on that mission I C4'd the SAM sites at the airfield and blew them as I took off. An EMP drone would work as well on each one. Once you're clear of Koani you can fly all the way to the rebel site without triggering a launch.
