I bought the game during the last sale and am already 160 hours in and absolutely loved the game. However one of the main reasons I was initially excited about the game was because of all the different activities you could do to grind for gear at endgame, you weren't stuck on just grinding one dungeon repeatedly for the best gear. Or at least that was what I thought before I played all the different activities and found out the drops rates (link bellow).

In the table I've done an approximate for 90 minutes worth of play. Percentages are all loot sources for that activity accumulated.
Survival - 2 caches for a score 10k+, and 4 caches extracted from landmark bosses.
Game Mode Minutes Exotic % Classified % Risk Survival 6 caches 90 18% 102% Extreme UG Challenge 4x 3 Phase 90 152% 96% Low Resistance 3x Round 10 90 160% 561.5% Low
Underground - Generously added in 4 Hunter Spawns to the 4 3 phases.
Resistance - Per run, 3 crates plus round 10 boss cache.
There's a few different non classified builds you can use to easily walk your way to round 10 solo in resistance which makes it barely any riskier than Underground yet we have less than 1/5 as much of a chance for a classified. Survival however is in another ball park completely. Survival is FAR riskier as the vast majority of the rewards for playing it come from clearing the elite landmarks, which you need to solidly gear up for AND then extract. Otherwise you could end up with one cache for your 60-90 minutes of play. That's just insane.
Then we have things like the weekly HVT's. What's the point of them? You have to farm intel to do them and they aren't any better than (the 15) LZ bosses which spawn with only a few red mobs every 4 hours.
TLDR; There's so much good content in The Division just going to waste because the rewards are so terrible and they simply aren't worth doing. Please bump everything else up to somewhere near Resistance or make one mode the best for Exotics, another for Classifieds and another an all rounder or something. Anything would be better than the current state of rewards as at present you basically force people to burn themselves out on nothing but Resistance.
The changes I'm after are literally just loot table changes and would required VERY LITTLE resources to do, so you can continue to make us a great Division 2
EDIT: Also with Underground there's no extra rewards for adding in directives and you have to farm to add them? The crates at the end of a phase may as well not even be there as they don't seem to drop anything but yellows. The blue crates are incredibly rare and still only have a 3% chance each for an exotic or classified! Maybe put some extra reward in these? The Night Club, Bank Vault and Furnace also spawn way to infrequently, cool content some people haven't even seen!
Considering the drop rates are considerably higher than they have ever been and the game is in utility mode i fear your desires will be fruitless. Im not against what you are saying i just know how this story ends. If you think they are low now, you never would of survived early on in the search for exotics and classy pieces. You could play all day and maybe get one or two total.Originally Posted by Herbosss Go to original post
It's not so much the drop rates but the drop rates versus Resistance, as it makes all other activities completely redundant apart from LZ boss runs every 4 hours.Originally Posted by moesuvious Go to original post
Hell as much as it would be an extremely unpopular thing to say I think I'd even prefer they nerfed Resistance down to the others so all the other content didn't feel so pointless and unrewarding in comparison. But the thing is the Resistance reward rate is out there and has been for awhile, they may as well just make all the other cool content that's sitting there hardly being played worth doing as it's just adjusting numbers on loot tables.
Not sure I read you chart correctly, but Chance each Boss or named Elite only gives you a set chance and it isn't accumulated. So 6 Survival Caches still only give you a set chance per cache and it is a very, very small chance. Survival is the worst place to farm for gear.Originally Posted by Herbosss Go to original post
The "we're in utility mode" argument doesn't really stand when it's just changing numbers in a few loot tables, no extra coding is required. Hopefully this thread will at least bring this to their attention for Div 2 though.Originally Posted by eckLub Go to original post
The percentage chance I've got in the table is your total chance to earn loot for a 90 minute run. Adding together all the loot drop rewards you can earn in that specific game activity.Originally Posted by YodaMan 3D Go to original post
Obviously no one plays Survival for the loot as it is one of the least rewarding activities in the game for time spent and the risk involved. Obviously with anything the more you do it the better you get at it, the thing is even if you are fully kitted in yellows you seem to be nowhere near as tough as in non classified sets in all the other modes. If you accidentally aggro a patrol while at a landmark or don't notice a flank it can easily be all over. Let alone if you're doing the PVP version where people can kill you with minimal risk while you're trying to clear a landmark.Originally Posted by Sangersss Go to original post
You are new and so you don't know how many bugs from day 1 are still in game. Considering they screwed up Reckless and Damage to Elites so badly, changing a few numbers around could break the game again.Originally Posted by Herbosss Go to original post
I agree with the sentiment. I have tunnel vision for LZ bosses. I don't get many caches out of resistance. I've opened a handful and none of them classy. I'm either not good enough or my non-classy build isn't quite good enough to compensate for my skill level.
But basically, I'm in-between 'main' games right now and just biding time until fall. As for TD2, this kind of change to the end game is what I'll be looking for before I buy it at full price or buy to keep long term. Worst case for me is buy it half price on Black Friday 2019, play just for the story and sell it.
For Resistance it's a lot easier if you run two builds. One general and a four piece D3 plus whatever for the data breach rounds. I haven't failed a single one (to round 10) since I started switching to D3 for those rounds. For the main build would recommend an LMG with extended mag and a predatory perk for big self heals.Originally Posted by Merriless42 Go to original post
I'm at the point where I pretty much only do LZ bosses because I can't bring myself to "waste my time" doing anything but Resistance due to it being more than 5 times more rewarding than any other activity.
Sadly it turns out what I thought was a massive strength of this game (farming variety) doesn't actually exist![]()
