the gameplay is repetitive and the weapons sucks. fetch quests and bulletsponge enemies that all do the same, except the queenies that deplete your already r*****ed cooldown system.
and i was looking forward to this one. . .
F*** this DLC
lets compare this to the witcher 3 heart of stone and blood and wine, both DLC's that came out almost 3 years ago. . . an unfair comparison sinse CDPR actually cares about keeping costumers coming back for more. but still, there were 14 new enemies in blood and wine alone and those two DLC's added atleast 30 more hours to an already awesome game.
this is horse shet, you're bad ubisoft and you should feel bad.
Great graphics + good exploration + stupid combat mechanics + ridiculous overpowered bosses (Solar System Observatory, where you fight with no weapons and just the power glove, as an example). Stupid final ending with a swarm of around 150 Hurks to defeat + Extremely stupid and demented storyline, yet again = 5.5 out of 10. Another game geared toward the hack & slash and clickfest crowd. I won't be finishing this DLC, nor will I even download the Zombie DLC, nor ever replay the main quest. nor continue the broken main quest either, other than to do the weekly challenges, until that gets me fed up as well, which is looking like real soon . For my $100 I got a good Vietnam DLC!
I feel that Ubisoft has chosen to please the over the top hack & slasher and clickfesters of the world and given the middle finger to everyone else. I doubt I will be purchasing anything from Ubisoft ever again, unless they cut down on all the over the top nonsense. They are becoming more like the Just Cause over the top series and have abandoned all logic, common sense, intelligent, strategic and true open world with choices gameplay for the player. Thanks for the few great games of the past Ubisoft, but this is not my cup of tea. I will watch gameeplay on YouTube before deciding to ever buy a game from you in the future. Over and out!
Man you guys are harsh! I could not disagree more. I think this DLC is awesome. I'm not finding it boring or repetitive whatsoever - I'm having a blast right now with this game! The graphics are absolutely beautiful. The environment they've created is fantastic and I love navigating around Mars, with lowered gravity and your gravity belt, And the arachnids?!? Are one of the best enemies in any game I've ever played, period! There are quite a few different ones and yes some of them are pretty tough to beat, probably because huge, armored arachnids SHOULD BE tough to beat!! (Anybody see Super Troopers?? arachnids are tough to kill!) They have weak points that you can exploit if you're good enough to hit them, which I think is awesome too. Really tough enemies with hard-to-hit weak spots. I think weapons are pretty good too, I like that they're all laser based and run out/ need recharging. I even like "climbing" the towers, with less gravity to worry about and a gravity belt to use! As far as the story goes, I like the premise of the narrative as well as Hurk, and I like the attempts at humor which are pulled off pretty successfully a la Blood Dragon...
I havent finished it but I really really like it. Its everything a Mars game should be. Kudos Ubisoft, don't listen to the haters, you hit two home runs with the first two installments of this DLC. Awesome value for your money in my book - I put 11 hours into Hours of Darkness, then another 12 to beat it again, and I've probably got 10 hours or so into Mars, which I will definitely play again. So I'm looking at around 50 hours of entertainment for 2/3 of a $30 DLC package (without what might end up as the best part!) I think that is incredible value for your dollar.
I honestly think that both DLCs have been brilliant and possibly even better than the main game.
Exactly. Same here.Originally Posted by Force58 Go to original post
