Add me to the list of users who initially really liked YS1, despite it's minor problems, only to be completely enraged by the calorie count bug and their complete lack of response to the issue.

No way, no how will UBI ever get one red cent out of me until they have felt the pain of what crappy customer service reaps. EA SPORTS Active 2.0 is light years ahead of this crap software anyways (warmup/cooldown, customizable, weights, heart monitoring, PATCHES based on user requests, etc).

Hope you UBI people lose a ton of customers and money thanks to how you treated users the last go round.

OK, so I got the first patch last night (that enabled the new DLC) and suddenly my calories burned for run the world are cut in half

In the PR/GA release of the software the calories burned while using the "run the world segment" were in line with what I would expect based on many different calorie burned calculations. For example, when completing all the London races, I would have burned between 270 and 310 calories depending on my sustained rate of speed.

After updating to the latest patch level released on December 14th (that enabled the first wave of DLC) the calories burned for the same run half been cut in half (even though I beat my best time), and are not accurate. I only burned ~140 calories for the same run.

I opened a support ticket and they responded with a from response indicating my question was

"related to general gameplay hints and tips that is either covered in the manual, or is available via another source such as the Ubisoft forums"

Did anyone else see this problem after applying the patch???

Yes I have the exact same problems. I think they decreased calories by about half, when they were pretty spot on before. Thats kind of disconcerting. Instead of fixing the areas where they have calorie deficiencies they create more issues.

    Hey,

I've experienced the same problems, but only for some of the exercises. The biggest change for me was in jump rope on hard, which dropped the number of calories burnt by 50%.

I know that these figures are only ever going to be a guide, but it's disencouraging to see the figures drop between identical workouts, and it makes me wonder about the value of having a calorie count at all in this software.

How are we supposed to judge even approximate figures when Ubisoft's patches keep changing them at all, let alone so wildly?

It's quite amusing how the title of the thread fits the current issue. This thread was started originally to address the bug in the last version whereby after a random period of time your Xbox would no longer update the total calories you burned. Each time you returned it would have gone back to the total at the end of the previous session. Since it was reported in February 2011 the number of reports continued to increase, but Ubishaft never once addressed the problem or provided a fix. Many of us faithful users of the previous version (for example I used it for at least 20-30 minutes a day 3-4 times a week since I got it) were extremely frustrated that they did not resolve that bug and were even more disappointed that there was not a single official response to the numerous requests for some feedback. Needless to say we were deeply suspicious about how they would operate this time round and already had extremely low expectations, which, sadly, so far they have failed to meet.

There are hundreds of customers out in the real world like me who use a "game" like this seriously and on a regular basis. However, it only takes a short time for even a novice to spot the obvious problems. The question has to be, "Did they employ anyone to test this out?" And if so then I wonder if they ignored their feedback as much as they continue to ignore ours?

Ubisoft do have something of a bad rep for providing fixes for buggy games, with Splinter Cell: Double Agent being a notorious case. It's astounding that they don't seem to care... and perhaps more so that people stick with them.

I do enjoy some of their software greatly, but they don't seem to want to fix bugs after they've taken your cash, which leaves a sour taste in many a person's mouth.

Ok, so we got another patch today and I thought, just for a second, that they may have fixed the problem with the first patch - nope, they made it worse

The calories got cut in half AGAIN - so now I burn 65 calories for the same run that I burned 150 last week and 300 in the initial release.

Way to go ubisoft - your support sucks, you ignore your own forums and support tickets, so the only option left is for us to sit and stew - and probably consider not buying any DLC (why bother) and maybe never buy another ubisoft product.

Calling Ubi-Mush, or whoever is supposed to be watching this forum?

This has become ridiculous! You need to urgently get an official response from the developers. Not only have they ignored the numerous concerns about the calorie count being too low they "fixed" the game by going in the exact opposite direction making it even lower AND they are still ignoring their customers by not provided some kind of statement on their OFFICIAL forums.

Thanks to NanoParticle in this other thread http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...1026098/m/5051016179 I see that the last patch added a profile to the menu where you can once again set your weight and height.

Once I set that the numbers improved, my London run was calculated at 205 calories. This is still lower than it was in the initial release (I was getting 280 cals) but is still much better than the first patch.

You'd think Ubisoft would want to point out such an important feature - but I guess they don't want to distract us from the all important DLC...
