Steep Crashes After 2/3 Loading.
As the title says. Steep runs perfectly fine until the 2/3 loading page. Game loads, there is the “Press Any Key” page, afer connecting and synchronizing with the servers, the loading begins and the game crashes to the desktop at 2/3.
SEMI-SOLUTION:
I have found only 1 solution, kind of. I can use my Intel HD Graphics to run the game, with no crashes. However, the frames I get are really poor.

Hey T0bahawk, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? Also, please try disabling background applications.

Hi ubi--unicorn, thanks for the quick reply.
I have tried both the methods you have suggested and even those in (https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.ph...ection-issues?). However, the crash still persists. I do hope that there would a fix to this problem soon. Thanks again.
EDIT: I have also tried the steps listed in (https://support.ubi.com/en-US/faqs/0...roubleshooting). Once again, the game still crashes. HOWEVER, the game does manage to load past 2/3 and crashes only when my character spawns onto the mountain.

I think there might be a problem with your save game, try to delete your local game and try to start it in offline, travel to another location, plug your network cable back in and go online.

Hi Buraton, thanks for the reply.
I have tried the steps you suggested but Steep once again still crashes.
Whilst offline, I managed to load into the game and spawn onto the mountain before the game crashes to the desktop. Once I had gone back online, the crash, once again, occurred after the 2/3 loading screen.

Hm.. One more thing you can try.
The same steps, but in Uplay on settings page, you have an option to sync with cloud save game, try to deactivate that option before trying the offline thing.

Hey, I think there is another method to fix your problem, basically there are 2 saves made for Steep
1. In C:\Users\*user*\Documents\My Games\STEEP which contains game settings, la graphics, language audio...
2. In the folder you installed Uplay launcher C:\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames you will see folders with lots of random numbers and letters, one of them usually the most recent one if you try to open Steep before this, will have in it another folder named 3279 or maybe 3280, that actually contains the Steep saves.
- if you don't care of other games from Uplay, just delete everything in C:\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames
3. Then, go to Uplay Launcher, Settings, and disable cloud save synchronization.
- for safe measure, restart Uplay, it has an option for that in the launcher
4. Start Steep in online like normal (starting it in offline doesn't help at all I think)
This should not delete all you progress in the game, I'm not sure of the entire result, but it did resolve my position in the world and maybe it will take you pass the crash.

Hey Buraton. Thanks for both of your suggestions. I have tried them and Steep still crashes.
However, I have realized that whilst in Offline mode, I managed to walk around for a bit (5-6 seconds) before the game crashes again. As soon as I go back Online, the crash occurs after the 2/3 loading screen.
After trying this Offline/Online advice, I suspect the crash occurs after a certain amount of TIME. This is probably because, whilst in Offline mode, the game loads faster as it does not need to connect to the servers. This is very strange as I am VERY sure my game files are not corrupted and I have a brand new set of save files too. Thanks again, Buraton, for your help. More would be appreciated and I hope Ubisoft finds a solution to this problem very soon.

I had the same problem but i found a soluton
So how did i fix this? Open your uplay game launcher or any game launcher that you installed steep from. if you're on uplay, open your games tab and press steep. In this window you have a menu on the left side of your window, on that menu scroll down untill you see "properties" In this window, you will see the folder where your game files are located. Under that you will have the blue button that says "open folder" it will open a window that shows all your steep game files. Scroll down until you see "steep.exe" youhave to launch the game through that. The game should launch normally but it will crash after a few minutes. After the crash you should be able to launch the game through where ever you launch it from and it should launch normally. If this doesn't work, verify your game files and try again.
