Since TU8, whenever I start the PC Editor, any child windows are offset outside my display. This effectively makes controls inaccessible.
This applies to ALL windows: New/Open Map, "Do you want to save", "Enter Map Name", etc.
The following actions do NOT fix this:
- Verify Files from the Uplay client.
- Selecting "Reset Layout" from the Editor Menu.
- Deleting my profile's Documents\My Games\Far Cry 5\editorgamerprofile.xml
- Deleting the Editor Registry Key at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ubisoft\Far Cry 5\Editor , or importing one from an installation that does work.
So, so far I've only come up with this workaround:
Workaround works with any window, it's annoying that I have to do this every time now.
Will update this thread when I know of a true fix.

I may have found a better workaround. Try closing the Editor, and importing my customized layout into the Windows registry by downloading & double-clicking on this file: FC5Editor_Steve64bWindowLayout.reg. This seems to have fixed it on my end,
My custom layout aligns the Editor viewport window on the left side of the screen, and moves the tool windows over to the far right side of my screen, outside of the Editor's viewport window. This separates the tools from the window, and has the added benefit of the floating "Objects" tool allowing navigation with the arrow keys for quickly stepping through the objects.
Here's a pic of my setup when the reg is in place:
On startup, before moving tools around:
Then, after moving the windows in place:

Hey there Steve!
Might you be able to send us your dxdiag?
A couple more questions if you don't mind:
- How many monitors do you use, and what type are they (as in screen measurements)?
- What resolution are you running the game on?
- How do you lay out all of the windows in the editor?
- Are you running the editor in full screen?
- Is there any other little detail you think might be relevant to this issue?
/CJ
I'm running the Editor on a single-monitor setup, native 1080p at 60Hz. I tried starting it in lower resolutions, but even then the issue remains. No matter what settings I try to set in the Editor or Registry, the outcome is the same.
I sent you an Email with some more info & my dxdiag.
I have the same issue using a 3 monitor setup.
I just have to drag the bottom of the UI window down far enough to see the contents of that window pane.
The only UI pane completely offscreen is the save as naming input box...which is kind of necessary to see.
Thanks for looking into it as this is a hefty headache.
