Even with the drawbacks, there was a lot I personally still enjoyed in the game. .....as for the "other", there were simply too many drawbacks (for me) to ignore.

I was never a big FC fan except for maybe FC2 because I could see where I thought the series would go, but there were still some gameplay elements in FC3 and FC4 that I could still enjoy enough to make the purchase worth it. .....not so in FC5.

Yeah I'm well aware Ubi has several teams, but they still approve final design and finishing touches. I also don't think the game engine used has anything to do with plane controls.

That FC3 was modded extensively (only on the PC unfortunately as you know) is what "saved" that one for me.

Don't think it can be assumed that final design and finishing touches, at whatever level of Ubisoft it's being done, actually look at what the studios might be doing differently as it might relate to the same game mechanics - let alone reacting to consumer feedback. My gut feeling says each franchise/series in basically a world unto itself. Might be mistaken of course ...

FC2 was the least fun for me, hell, I didn't even go to the other map, that's how much I hated the whole Malaria, weapon jamming, posts spawning faster than I could turn the car around and grinding for ice. Sure, FC3 came along and the grinding continue but the posts capture were better, the island was nice and there was more to do, even if the side missions were childish at best. FC4 was just a tad better even if if felt lacking for more action... FC5 was my hope (after I personally thought GRW was a failure but I knew the hype was too good to be true). Kean let us know about the griefs of FC5 and I couldn't believe how low they went with the bar on this one. I mean, 2 or 3 different weapons with 10 different skins and they thought people would be ok with that? Oh but excuse me... they gave you folks 3 to 5 different bats !!! DOH !!!

Anyways, let's get the post on track... UBI, How's about some love for the PC users with KB+M

Well, you're entitled to your opinion of course, but my experience with extremely large and successful publishers, especially those such as Ubi whom would rather encrypt the crap out of every game rather than make it mod friendly, is that they are control freaks. No pun intended btw, since after all, we are talking about controls.

I do agree with the above. My comments were related to what might be considered corporate/publisher control versus game studio control - relating to the issue of differences between GRW and FC5 in game design; i.e. the point you brought up. Nothing more.

Its all about milking the last cent possible while trying the least since, no matter what they want you to believe, they are no longer a Gaming Studio but a Commercial entity. I am sure the Devs are Geniuses but perhaps some higher up is not letting them execute what they have envisioned in their heads or perhaps is the reverse since we are seeing the results getting crappier and crappier with each newer game.

I I know that's what you mean, and I concur at the pub end they've at least gotten to the point where they listen more to fans, especially since back on the GRAW 2 forum they issued a gag order at one point on the dev team for being too intent on listening to feedback. They DO still exert control in many ways in game design though, as does pretty much any huge publisher.
