    Takedowns Inconsistency in Arcade

Inconsistency is all I'm going to say. It'll pop up for one guy but not the other? This is a problem.

It would be easily solved if we could take them out via game setting or even just have an update to make it more consistent.

Yea, if if there is one reason I play Far Cry it's because I want realism.

In FC4 we could enable/disable takedowns from the loadout options. Would be cool to have that feature back, also for SP maps.

You must be bad at Arcade to say this. Take Down's are great. It's one thing that splits FC Arcade apart from other FPS games, and there are plenty of maps that utilise it. I have won matches 25 kills up because of take down and enhancers. It's fun, but if it's not for you don't complain just don't play Arcade 🔥

Take downs don't belong in Far Cry games...period. It's a programming trick to save development costs and nothing more. It's ironic that so much effort is put into making the game world look and sound real while at the same time avoiding anything that makes the game behave real.

If you want realism then maybe you shouldn't be playing a game where you can insta-kill heavily armored foes by throwing a spade at them.

    Just sayin'.

There you go...a good point about the bizarre arrangements the franchise sets up in-game that nobody on earth would do in real life. It reminds me of the "hunting" missions in FC3, such as the one where you must go out and kill X number of wild dogs with a flame-thrower. That was laughable.

I do want realism. And I want it put into perspective so the game is balanced. In other words, find the sweet spot where there's enough to keep the game immersive but not so much that activities become "over the top" ridiculous.

And BTW, I don't play FC5. I won't buy it. It's essentially the same as every other FC release since FC3 came out. I thoroughly enjoy FC2 and hope the essence of what made that release so engaging might once again appear. If it happens it will likely be an accident at this point. One can only hope.

    Blasphemy

Don't use takedowns if you don't want to.
