Healthy strats that hinges on the game running properly (i.e. Game bugs like squad getting detected while talking to Sam Fisher being responsible for 80% of mission failures) and the squad A.I. not screwing up (i.e. Squad A.I. Refusing to revive you at random intervals). Unfortunately, Wildlands’ glitches are interfering with said healthy strats to begin with.

@Lunatic, did your squad get detected even after not giving them any orders whatsoever on the way in? No criticism, I'm generally curious.

That has never happened to me, in fact it's one of the immersion breakers to many players when the AI don't get spotted in a position where they should.

It has happened regardless of orders being given or not. For every 100 attempts per character (4 characters created total in both console versions) good 70% has occurred during the first phase of the mission. A good 20% has occurred during the Sam Fisher conversations. The rest has occurred during regular gameplay.

This happens to you on other missions or just this one? I might have to take a good look at this.

Unfortunately, I can't properly gauge this against the rest of the vanilla game since I have been playing it sporadically between solo and co-op over the launch year. By the time the Special Operation pack has released, the A.I. shortcomings have reared its ugly head more prominently when I have started playing exclusively single-player on both console platforms. Considering the fact that phase one of the mission has a very strict parameter, passing this segment is more luck-based than anything else, and this is coming from someone that has played and beaten the entire Splinter Cell franchise. Compared to a regular Splinter Cell game, this mission has the worst quality assurance testing known to mankind it's not even funny.

As I mentioned in a previous post, if you happened to have a high-level character with everything unlocked, the combat segment is SLIGHTLY manageable, but not ideal. If you are anywhere below level 14, you are forced to be gimped if you happen to be in La Cruz.

i'll agree with you on that one point about the gamefunction... for the life of me, i cant understand why, and only since the "free play weekend" we had back in april, i De-Sync all over the place, my team sees my marker 7km+away even when im next to them, if i tag a truck, they see "mission failed"....

ive gone wired/wireless, ive opened every port listed plus a few custom settings on my router.... no matter what support offers.. i cant fix it... so yeah.. on the actual game function, theres a huge issue

Lol! OMG.. find somewhere nearby where you and your squad are able to sit undetected, BEFORE you attempt your infiltration. Use the command wheel and have them hold position.

I recommend along the fence line between the main section and the Helo bay. They'll stay in cover while you make your way to Sam. DON'T TRY TO MAKE YOUR WAY TO SAM WITH A 4 MAN TEAM!

    Lol! You trippin'!?

Two big holes with your suggestion.

    1. Squadmates STILL get spotted when being told to hold position. Doesn't matter if I hide them behind thick bushes or a cluster of boulders.

    2. Squadmates automatically respawn next to you if you are too far away from them.

Because of 1 and 2 happening frequently, they still get spotted despite giving them orders.

Lol! There's no holes in my suggestion. It's clear to me you're trying to bullrush the Op.

You can infiltrate the base with your team easy. Don't try to infiltrate the building Sam is in with a 4-man team! -- One, having your team hold, undetected also means they watch your back.

I'm talking the fence line between the Jammer and the Helo bay. That where you hold and also have a clear view of the Power station. -- It's mere meters from Sams position.

You can get there by circling the right side of the base, from where you restart. There is a break in the fence line that let's you straight in.

That is the route I always take. FYI, I only finished mission four times, if your reading comprehension is actually competent. It still does not address the fact that mission is designed poorly. Not interested in the same song and dance if you are outright ignorant about the mission having ****ty design.
