I submited a case on the ubisoft support thingy and I havent received an answer since I created it (25 jun) so my last resort is to ask here. I have the for honor standard edition. I want to buy the discounted gold edition so I looked up if my progress goes on. On uplay under the for honor site it states:

"If you own a standard game, it is not possible to upgrade your game to a more extensive edition, like a Deluxe edition or Gold edition. Most content is available separately, so we would recommend purchasing this content separately. If you wish to upgrade to a Gold edition for example, we would recommend purchasing a Season Pass instead."

So I said ok ****. Then my friend (who also wants to buy the edition sent me this from the FAQ:

"Buying any edition other than the Starter Edition will upgrade your version and unlock all content that comes with your purchase. Note that, if you own the Starter Edition on Steam, you won’t be able to buy any other edition on Steam due to platform restrictions. Your game progress will carry over as long as you use the same Ubisoft account to buy and play the game."


So does that mean that It works or that only the people with the starter edition can have their progress continue? Seems counter-intuitive doesnt it?

Hey man, I know having too much information may confuse the situation. So hopefully I can give you the straightforward answer of YES your progress will be kept.

For some clarification, if you already have the standard edition, and buy the gold edition linking to the same account, you will recieve the content. But as the above FAQ sugested, buying the season pass is a fair bit cheaper, for most of what the gold edition offers.
