Regarding some questions, here is an additional info from the devs directly:
A ‘Damage zone’ is a resizeable shape (like an extraction zone or control zone), in which you can specify the damage taken, and the frequency at which that damage ticks.
A ‘Kill zone’ is also a resizeable shape, but it instantly kills any player entering it.
Hope it helps clarify it![]()

Could you add a block zone in a future update so we can use block zones to prevent players leaving the playable area limits. so we have a choice of the normal out of map timer or a block zone. they would need to have a height setting. thanks.Originally Posted by Mathias338 Go to original post
Thank you Mathias for explaining.Originally Posted by Mathias338 Go to original post
Can I ask how would a player know if they are going into one of these zones, is there something visual that comes with them or do we place fire or say green fog over the area ?
Just wondering if the player would know the zone is there and it is up to them to take the risk of entering.
Yeah, I assume there's no way to tell yet. So these zones can probably be confusing; not all green mists are intended as poison, so players wouldn't know which is hazardous, and which isn't.Originally Posted by Fallen-Champ Go to original post
In FC4, the Proximitymine Activated had a HUD icon that would pop up as soon as you came in close proximity (several meters). It also had a distinct "beeping" sound, so you'd instantly know there's an active mine there.
Perhaps it'll just work out though, map makers would probably need to make the zone 'look' hazardous.
