There needs to be a parry cooldown

I am sick and tired of literally everything I do now being parried. Its BS. I get that dfense is the meta for the time being, but scrubs being able to turtle up and parry literally everything a player does is just ridiculous.

Either I sit there and do nothing and we have a staring contest or I attack and get insta-parried.

    Its ludicrous.

Simple solution is closing the parry window a bit so it's harder, maybe as tight as deflecting.

Since you never replied to your other thread where you also mentioned your problem with parrying I have to assume that you never saw the replies which stated that parry has changed in a way that has buried the old defensive meta. As you now form a new thread around the subject I must conclude that you for some reason have not found the time to read up on these changes. I have therefore taken it upon myself to google them. I found that Ubisoft themselves have a nicely written and exemplified guide to the core fighting mechanics changes introduced in season 5.
    Here they are: https://forhonor.ubisoft.com/game/en...e-fight-update
Enjoy, and change your fighting style accordingly.

    How is it either?

We all know the Defense meta is BS which is why they are changing it at some point. Its absurd to just sit there and endlessly wait for someone to make the first move. Because anyone with half a brain knows that if they move first its highly likely they get parried and punished. So it turn into a frickin staring contest where nothing happens.

Which hero are you playing? And don't say ''happens no matter who I play'', this kind of post is usually the result of a repeated experience with a particular hero.

I play with alot of heroes so it really is with all of them. I usually play 1 or 2 as one and then switch. The only hero that I don't really worry about it on is my Zerker because I can do enough mix-ups that it doesn't really matter.

Giving parry a cooldown wouldn't address the issue of things being easy to parry. It just moves the goal post.
There are 3 solutions that deal with this. But i'm unsure as if the devs are to address them.

The first is to fix the buffered attack issue. For which if you did not know basically if you input an attack in a combo before the prior attack finishes the attack you just put in will be slower than it should be. As an example. Gladiators light combo is supposed to be nothing but 500ms lights. But every light after the first one is effectively 600ms if you buffer the input rather than waiting till your attack is done.

Next would be to add varied ms increments. When time snap was a feature all attacks/actions had to be forced into 100ms increments. With this gone attacks no longer need to be stuck to this. If we added varied ms increments a player would have to learn the parry timings of each individual hero rather than a global 3 or 4 speeds. Varied ms increments are standard in fighter games. And if you don't believe changing a few ms would drastically impact things I direct you to two examples.

The first being their lag comp system. Which added 33ms (the equivelant of one frame) to most offensive actions. This had a big impact on console. It made things a lot more fluid and consistent. And for pc it got rid of the weird issue where attacks would be faster sometimes for no reason. This happened on all platforms. But since pc can have much higher frames per second visually speaking one frame doesn't amount to much visual information wise.

The second example is delaying comboed inputs. This turns say a 500ms light into something like a 467ms light. Or their true speed. And delaying a 400ms light 360ish ms light. This is why delayed 400ms lights are considered unreactable even by pro players. These lights exist as chip damage to those who are good at react blocking. So adding varied ms increments would be a big deal.

Finally adding viable block strings. By that I mean you get mix ups/pressure even if the opponent blocked your first attack. This forces the blocker to have to know the kit better and just be better at reacting in general. Because in most instances blocking an opening attack would not reset the fight to neutral.

These 3 changes combined would make defending harder to do. Whilst not reducing the potency of a good defense. Which is not what we need to be aiming for now that parry rewards were nerfed. Of course defending will always be strong to a degree in for honor. That is because for a large portion of the cast blocking is a passive action. Where as in any other fighting game blocking is something you actively have to do. That and this game lacks mobility/long combos. Neither of these things make for honor inherently bad. and I think if we were to move into that direction for honor wouldn't be for honor anymore.

But I think the proposed changes plus just having better kit design in general is all FH needs at this point.

Then what's the point to parry? You can just sit and block all Day + its safer. Parry already was nerfed and its fine how it is now. You get **** from heavy parry and parry lights isn't easy especially when your opponent is good in feiting. Again this post is same as crying about new revenge -complainings coming mostly from gang squads and noobs which just spam attacks like no tomorrow and then crying oh he has revenge all the time or ohh all our attacks are parryed so we need CD for parry. CD for parry is dumb idea only good for noobs or spaming gang squads. 😉
No offense guys just my opinion
