Nothing wrong with games based in history, plenty of them out there have been successful in multiple genres. Some are loosely based with historical settings as merely a backdrop to where others try to be as accurate and detailed as possible and yet others fall in between. The vast majority of AOS pirate games follow the same general tired formula, giant sea monsters/Krakkens, buried treasure, and usually have magic and undead skeletons as well. Using real ships and themes from history in regards to an AOS game would actually make it more unique.Originally Posted by FuryPrinceUBI Go to original post
giant sea monsters and buried treasures are ok in my opinion...they really funOriginally Posted by Ruthless4u Go to original post
Name me one good reason why boarding is good in multiplayer battle and I'll name 5 that are not. Hell, me naming one will pretty much sum up the whole thing. If you go boarding, you leave your ship - it 100% sinks. Means you lose every time. It can be abused and it will 100% be abused. Because why not, I'd do it too. Everyone would do it, playing a pirate game and call it fair? Well bud, playing the wrong thing. But still, thank the devs that they are thinking ahead and trying to make the game balanced and fun for everyone. (fun meaning as not so frustrating)Originally Posted by DeeK_KayE Go to original post
And I literally see you everywhere cry about hand to hand combat and on foot exploration. Like what's the deal with it? Why do you think it'll be good? Give us some reasons because all I hear you say is nothing of much importance really.
Problem is they are in practically in every pirate game, I don't mind a good fight with a giant sea monster/kraken etc but when it's the same thing in every AOS game then it gets old.Originally Posted by DeeK_KayE Go to original post
Some peopke crave a little more than the same tired cliches over and over again. I was hoping for something new and innovative, you seem to want the same tired gameplay from the past decade or so.
lol you gotta be joking...see, in blackwake for example they came up with a good solution...making the boarding ships INVULNERABLE during the boarding...theres your solutionOriginally Posted by FuryPrinceUBI Go to original post
Are you not listening to yourself? You are actually at the point of annoyance, try and understand what you're saying, look into it, before you say anything, and please stop crying on every forum about boarding not being in - you are just making it more acceptable for others after seeing your comments.Originally Posted by DeeK_KayE Go to original post
INVULNERABLE as a solution smh
(not trying to be toxic)
Actually, PIrates often came ashore to raid warehouses, sabotage ships in harbor and notably here in St. Augustine, the city was sacked and burned to the ground at least 17 times prior to the construction of the Castillo de San Marco. We Re-Enact Searles Raid and Drake's Raid every year, when the came ashore and sacked the town.... Pirates didn't just live aboard and do all their business aboard their ships, they spent time in port spending their spoils and "entertaining" themselves, as well as Captains and Quartermasters conducting trade for their plundered goods, recruiting crew, getting news of the day and the travel of possible targets, purchasing or "obtaining" goods/services to repair/upgrade their vessels. Also, as part of the code on most ALL pirate ships was one that > "ALL crew disputes will be settled ashore". so, if you had a beef with a crewmate, ya grounded on an island or waited till ya pulled into port and took to fists, sword or pistol until the dispute was resolved.
SO, maybe not a clone of AC4, but a "Pirate game" without land interactions, may be as dull as playing electronic battleship...….

yes its a solution and a very good one. period. if they dont believe it is, how about they test it firstOriginally Posted by FuryPrinceUBI Go to original post
Who's to say they haven't? Justin's already on record many times as saying that during the game's development they came to the realization that the game would work best without melee combat. So that's pretty much the end of it. They looked at it, they concluded that it wouldn't work for the game. Fin.Originally Posted by DeeK_KayE Go to original post
nice propaganda right there those are just excuses and I dont think they have even tried it...I dont know if its laziness, greed or both....of course I'm not saying they should add the AC melee combat in multiplayer BUT they could make a different melee combat for the multiplayer to work...its just they not even trying dudeOriginally Posted by Flawbringer Go to original post
