I guess it's more a financial Question. You want to place our Product in your Game? Then give us loads of Money.

Well, I doubt it's that simple.. I mean. Someone will always take you up on a free-bee. That's a given. -- and tbh, it doesn't matter that I want to put your product in my product. I'm still going to want something in that arrangement, more than just doing you a favour to do myself one. Bottom line is: Is it worth it, to ya? That's what it boils downs to.

They tend to want to complicate things too. Remember, they are also businesses and also are looking for ways to market. Which means they can have a totally different idea in mind than your simple proposition.

It's probably because Ubi would make money from having an HK416 in their game, or even offer it as a microtransaction, HK want a cut. An independant modder making the mod for fun and making no profit may be ok.

I get what you're saying but I was coming from the other way. At min. HK would do it for nothing, if they weren't constantly marketing their products themselves. No one gets something for nothing, in any business, unless it's negligible and you're not looking for opportunity yourself. -- In which case, you usually owe 'em.

I mean, you're mad if you put someone else's product in your game and don't get at least advertising money. These arms manufacturers are always looking for somewhere to drop bucks. -- Neither industry is nickle & dime stuff, man. I'd actually be shocked if money changes hands over these sorts of things at all, tbh.

Ya think it's an accident they have all these brand skins & patches in these games? -- Nah, man.. it's all compromise. But if the result of that compromise ends up costing you more to implement, than what you were initially seeking, it's not worth it. Y'know?

At this point, I personally do not see the need to add the HK416, since the differences between the P416 are relatively small, and the two would be indistinguishable in game. So if anything, maybe add the larger caliber HK417, with the clear magazines, to complete with the MK17. The thing is, Ubii must already have extensive licensing agreement with HK, since the game already includes the MP5, MP7, G28, PSG-1, the G36C, MG121 the L85A2 Crocodile, and the P12 pistol. So IMO, it would have been a more logical choice, in terms of licensing, to include the HK416 and 417, at launch, over the P416, since that's the only weapon Patriot Ordnance makes, for military use. So they would have required entering into a brand new licensing agreement, instead of expanding on an existing one, just for the one weapon.

I see your point. I guess we'll see what they are adding later in the month and if it will include new weapons.

The L85A2 is H&K? I thought it was a British gun.

The L85 was created by Enfield, but the L85A2 upgrades, were done by H&K. So since that is the variant that is in the game, I included it.

I read that. Didn't realize that HK help with the SA80s.
