Having watched more videos of Starlink gameplay I am REALLY looking forward to this. Spaceship RPG, with cool interchangeable ships, pilots and weapons plus loads of in-game modification and upgrades of everything (mothership, pilots skill trees, weapon and ship mods...).
Found a really good video that shows loads of in-game stuff, including (yay) all ship stats. This was for the XBOX One version so no Arwing stats (and the stats are slightly different than the previous ones I found from Switch version, which may be due to the equipped pilot or some upgrade or similar...

Ship stats from this video (but watch it for other great info, including seeing Judge's (pilot of the Neptune) skill trees. All relate to his time shift special ability).
    Zenith speed 100 handling 125 defense 170 energy 185
    Nadir speed 225 handling 125 defense 130 energy 100
Lance speed 150 handling 205 defense 110 energy 100 (very similar to Arwing)
    Pulse speed 155 handling 210 defense 115 energy 100
    Neptune speed 100 handling 100 defense 230 energy 155

    Judge, Neptune, Levitator Weapon, £24.99
Calisto Chase Da Silva, Pulse, Volcano Weapon £24.99
Hunter Hakka, Lance, Imploder Weapon £24.99
    Shaid, Nadir, Nullifier Weapon £24.99

    £69.99
    £99.96
    £39.96
    £27.96

    £237.87 Total

However with the named four new pilots, can assume that they have thier own ships and specialist
weapons so can drop their price and add four ships with the list
    £99.96
So if that theory is true its:
    £309.87
That's $311.51 for the original items or $405.80 including the additional pilots, ships and specialists.

Am I the only one who thinks that's insane?

Are the toyless digital versions significantly cheaper?

No information on this yet and I am hoping that digital versions will be available decently cheaper (since most of the cost should be the manufacturing of physical stuff) but this is just how to Toys to life stuff is. You don't need any more than the starter pack, the add-on stuff is just for entertainment. I always find it amusing how angry people get at this kind of thing. I would be miffed if I bought the game and content was locked due to not having the extras but for interesting extra flavour that you can take or leave I would eithe decide the game was worth playing and buying or I would just go elsewhere for my entertainment. As long as it isn't pay to win then this seems fine and all reviews so far imply that the toys are very well made.

The people wanting to pay that money for every item would be much less common and is no different than people willing to pay similar amounts for fancy models of their favourite game characters. More common would be the people that enjoy the game and decide to pick up a few more of the weapons and maybe an extra ship or two for extra interest and versatility when playing. I am seeing this as some nice toys for my kids to play with and a decent game for me to play primarily as digital only (using the portability fo the switch).

Who's angry? The game looks fun but the price is ridiculous. Judging by the lack of hype here (or anywhere) I won't have to long to wait for the digital price to plummet so I can buy the complete package for cheap. No anger there.

Hah, yeah, I am probably putting you in as part of a crowd of people making similar (but more aggressive) comments along the same lines. Apologies. I have a similar plan of buying a few early on and then maybe picking up others later in sales if I am enjoying the game enough. Still, just wanted to make it clear that whilst I'm sure they would be happy for people to buy everything I think they are really just expecting people to pick their favourites and play the game with that. It was aimed at kids who would enjoy playing around swapping the ships and potentially sharing them with mates and playing co-op.

I am really curious to see what happens about digital-only pricing (which would be annoying if they make it very expensive, since that doesn't cost them anything extra) but I can see that they have a quandary since if they make very cheap digital-only options then potentially no-one will buy the actual ships. The quality of the ships also means that they can't make them too cheap since they probably cost a reasonable amount to manufacture. Ahh, maybe they will suffer the curse of toys-to-life but i really hope not as I am really looking forward to this game. The gameplay looks excellent.
