The only thing I'm remotely interested in at this point is the "more" they promised regarding the lobby/Custom Match features they said will be coming in SO2. Unfortunately, we don't know if that simply means more information or actual content at this point. .....or what any of that would even include.
I'm afraid to say that I've given up hope for any meaningful PvE enhancements at this point seeing what direction they have taken thus far with the challenges, aesthetic choices, etc. ....by "meaningful" I am referring to changes I would prefer like an NG+ mode or a mission generator, etc. that would add replayability to the core game for folks like myself and my friends.
Unfortunately, they already shut down the idea of the mission generator which is a shame since they could have really taken advantage of the vast gameworld and current assets they have already created in GRW. I have to wonder if they misunderstood and thought most were calling for more of a full blown editor with all the tools and such that would go along with that. Although that might be cool, I think most were just asking for a mission creator/generator where you could select from general, set parameters like mission type, provence/location, etc.
....oh well. Even just an NG+ might get me to come back to PvE for a while. ....and/or the ability to deselect skills and things along those lines to more easily tailor the gameplay experience.
Speaking hyper-priced clothing line, I think Ubi is too busy doing lobbying real product brands and clog themselves some trouble to expand their game.
Like said previously, GTA Online has more military attributes than this military-themed game despite of their fictional brands. It's a freaking embarrassment.
Possiblly, but also that Ubi seems to have grown cautious over the last few years of letting players customise something they had not tested themselves. I wonder if they are pushing the game engines so hard that they have work-arounds built in and don't want to risk players choosing something outside the envelope. The simplicity and low quality of the Far Cry Editor could be for that reason. I don't know, just speculating.Originally Posted by Kean_1 Go to original post
NG+ is on my possibles list, but deselecting skils probably less likely.Originally Posted by Kean_1 Go to original post
After seeing Far Cry 5 Arcade contents, I must say I would rather have a mission generator than a mission/map editor.
Some users may be creative enough to create legit content. Some are creative in making absurd weird sh*t. Most can't make jack.
Hence I'd better off with piece-by-piece mission generator system that Ubi can always expand on. Example:
Kill 30/Unidad/with any weapon/in Flor de Oro
I've seen a way smaller game has mission generator that regenerates one every half an hour. And of course, it's local. Not some server-controlled crap.

The mission generator I'm envisioning would be general and based on existing mechanics/components/assets that already exist in the game. Folks would be able to select from a predetermined list of locations and basic missions types within each province (e.g. document recovery, assassinations, hostage rescue, attack and secure a location/base, steal the helicopter/plane/vehicle, etc.). Maybe even a randomizer that will give a player a randomly chosen mission with the province they are are in. Nothing complicated with deep narratives or anything like that. ....just basic missions types that give players something more to do in the game world than the same story missions.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
There are a lot of cool areas and specific locations which would be fun to play different mission types in and it needn't be something that starts out huge. They could have added mission types, new locations to choose from, etc. in later updates. They could have even created challenges as they do now utilizing this feature.
It wouldn't be an editor in the sense that players would have the ability to create something out of the realm of what's available in the "mission generator". In a way, it's really just a list of new, simplistic missions that would be available. Some of which would obviously need to be tested but we are talking basic mission types that I don't think would require anything too sophisticated.
I guess I would have just liked to see Ubi take advantage of the existing core game and world they created. With all the cool locations, bases, towns, etc. it all seems like such a waste to me. A mission generator would provide more of purpose to fight through a base, sneak into an outpost, capture an asset, etc. It would add a lot of replayability for me.
Granted, I don't have all the answers and I'm not even saying this idea would need to be exactly like what I described. ....but something along those lines I think would provide a lot more value to folks like me than the weekly challenges we've had and crossover themed missions that are over within an hour or so.
I'd really like a system exactly as you describe! I'm just guessing on Ubi's reluctance.Originally Posted by Kean_1 Go to original post
Really? I would like some drastic improvements to the flaming. It's the same old, boring, repetitve and low quality flaming we've had to suffer since the beta and even before. None of the previous flaming improvements that have been requested by the community have been implemented.Originally Posted by crowlecj Go to original post
I think the flamers are really now working on preparing flaming for a different game and we'll get the same poor effort and unfunny, predictable criticism on each of the S02 updates.
