Problems & Issues & a few suggestions, too (no particular order)
The Crew 2 Closed AND Open Betas PS4
I took part in BOTH the “Closed” AND “Open” betas for THE CREW 2 on the PS4……and was absolutely shocked by what I experienced, found, saw, etc. and just the pure lack of “care” taken to give us what has been promoted and even during interviews with developers, a “highly researched” experience to give us a great game!
This is NOT anything close to that in anyway. I’m sorry, but this game should NOT be released this week, and certainly NOT for the same prices as “AAA” games.
The countless problems and issues, glitches, etc. that I have found in just a few short hours (by not even TRYING to find) is absolutely ridiculous…..
And what’s worse, is MANY of the problems are still problems from the “Original” THE CREW game that UbiSoft has NEVER fixed, despite countless attempts to contact them (not only by myself, but other’s, too).
Whenever I attempt to contact support……I am always told to INSTEAD post my complaints to the “Forums”….which ALSO go “unanswered” by ANYONE (either by the public and especially anyone by UbiSoft)……which I am told again and again that staff ARE constantly reading through EVERY Post and forwarding on EVERYTHING to the developers to constantly “improve” their games.
Well…..there are serious issues within “Ubisoft”……not only with the lack of “care’ in making MANY of their games (not all of them, but a lot)……and ESPECIALLY with the people that are getting paid to TEST and CATCH all of these problems BEFORE the game is released, right? And sure, I and all of us can forgive “little” things that pop up here and there that can’t be seen or predicted………but when they are HUGE problems and MAJOR glitches that happen EVERYWHERE???......or are SO BAD that NO ONE could have missed it (either during development, OR by testing???)………NO!!!.....no forgiveness whatsoever.
As you’ll see by what I have come across, this game is an absolute EMBARASSING game…..no matter how much you’re promoting the “exciting” racing, etc. Who cares what we can “DO” in the game…..if you don’t create a world that not only is “REALISTIC” (especially when you are recreating the USA, etc.)…….but you don’t even make the “environment”, effects, etc. realistic at all. This is just HORRIBLE.
This is a game NOBODY should purchase until you (UbiSoft) actually “CARES” about making / finishing the game you actually “promoted” at the very beginning. We deserve nothing less…..and after countless years of you doing this to us over and over again……..enough is enough.
So, if you even care at all………which I can only presume from past experience, you WON’T do anything about whatsoever………here is everything I found in the 2 Betas (NOTE”……..NOTHING changed from one Beta to the next…..ALL the problems remained in the “OPEN” beta…..that were ALL there in the “Closed” beta)
*****So, there is NO WAY they’re going to fix ANYTHING before the game is released, printed to disks, sent to stores, etc……..so you are ALL getting a total “CRAP” game (sorry to say, but it is true)….it is a completely UNFINISHED game as far as I’m concerned.
And we all know what that means………”PAID” DLC content in the future (probably $39 - $49 that will only THEN include “SOME” enhancements / fixes (but still won’t fix anything IMPORTANT) (just like in the original CREW).
****If you DO care and have any questions about anything below……please feel free to contact me. I’m not “angry”……I’m just sick and tired and extremely disappointed in you, UbiSoft that you have once again promised us something AMAZING……..yet are releasing something HORRIBLE and obviously not even ½ finished. (and you know it, too)….but are still charging the same FULL price. It’s disgraceful and criminal that you continue to get away with this everytime.

The BIGGEST THING!!! Ability to “Reset”/”Restart” our CAMPAIGN, etc…(STILL NOT FIXED in Original Game!!!)….We are ALL VERY ANGRY AT YOU STILL FOR NOT FIXING THIS!!!!!
Already in this “BETA”……..I noticed that the game did NOT “save” anything to my PS4 Hard Drives (no “saved game” data, etc.)……..just like in the Original game
Now, I don’t know if that is “normal” for Betas???.......but I am EXTREMELY concerned that you guys are going to do exactly what you did with the original CREW………and NOT tell us in advance or in ANY of the information ANYWHERE………..that we will NOT be able to “Reset or Restart” our game campaigns, etc…..because YOU (UbiSoft) will be the ONLY ones “saving” our games. We will NOT have ANY “saved” information on our own systems, etc……..or WILL WE this time???
I was so PISSED OFF with the original game after I bought it, because there were absolutely ZERO “warnings” or notes, etc. on the website to tell ANYONE about this “unique” feature that was the first time (unless I’m mistaken) that a company had done this to us gamers). And as far as I’m concerned……was ILLEGAL in many ways as well………especially when we contacted you to REMOVE our information, and you say you “don’t know how” or “can’t access it”, etc. Well, sorry, but that is NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!
You have our “personal information” stored “somewhere”…….not to mention that you allowed us ALL to purchase a literal “one-time”ONLY full playthrough game. That is just unheard of and should have NEVER happened………..and something you STILL HAVEN’T FIXED (which should be extremely EASY for you to do to let us “restart” the campaign missions, etc………..so WHY HAVEN’T YOU!!!)
Anyway………if you are doing the same thing THIS TIME>………….you BETTER SAY IT!!!......and let EVERYONE KNOW!!!!!
- No Video Settings??? (your games have too much “bloom”)……but nevertheless, you MUST give us at the very least the ability to adjust BRIGHTNESS……….and would be really nice to have MORE settings (like Contrast, etc.) ***Common sense, guys!
- The constant “Beeps/Dings” when we are earning “Followers” during gameplay is EXTREMELY ANNOYING!!!!!..........especially when we are simply wanting to do some “free-roaming”.
- Give us option to turn OFF that sound (and ONLY that sound)
- Draw distance - Lots of “Artifacts”??? are popping in and out (even at CLOSE range)
- Is this because it’s the BETA?? (I presume NOT…..but needs to be fixed)
- Resetting Glitches - There were “random” times where I drove into the Water (specifically the OCEAN)……and the game RESET me automatically)…….but reset me right back to the exact same place (IN THE OCEAN)……..and then instantly reset me again, and again, and again……and because it was happening so fast, it gave me no time to switch vehicles…..but also, the game would NOT let me press “Options” either (I guess because of the resetting happening so fast). I had to shut down the game and open it again.
- Crashing - TWO problems….
1. The resetting is “instant” (we don’t even get to SEE the crash at all)….at the very least, let us see an “external” camera of the crash!!!! (maybe even in “Slow motion”….that would be awesome!
2. Where is the car DAMAGE!!!! This is so STUPID!!! I don’t care if this is supposed to be just an “arcade style”……at the very LEAST……..”SHOW US DAMAGE!!!!!” (and LOTS OF IT) Have stuff flying off the vehicles if we hit things…..scratches, etc. etc. Come on!!!
- I would even like to see you give “Levels” of experience where you have FULL damage….including where it affects the DRIVING…….engines, flat tires, etc. etc. etc.!!!!
- The MAP - Now, for me “personally”……..I DON’T like that It’s just pure “white” ( I MUCH preferred the OLD map where we could see ALL the terrain, etc. from ALL zoom levels, etc…..so much better!! The white just looks SLOPPY and too “basic”
- ALSO……..the “Zooming” tool is extremely SLOW!!!!........along with moving sideways, etc. Needs to be MUCH faster (or at least give us options to change)
- Oceans This is just embarrassing. The “outer” oceans are Awesome, I’ll give you that. BUT……….A few hundred yards from the LAND……and OUT to sea???.........there are NO WAVES!!!!!!
Basically, the races, and “close to coast” areas ALL look like a lake on a very calm day (with no wind)….so calm that the light chop doesn’t affect any boats at all.
You show waves (BIG WAVES) not only in your Trailers and promos……..but even in the opening scene when we start the game!!!
Tell me, when have you gone to an ocean when there is NO WAVES alone the coast???
- Weather?? Where is / was it???? Yeah, it “rained” (if you call it that) a few times….but it didn’t’ look real at all!!! (the ORIGINAL game has 10x better Rain effects, even if a messed up system). Flying, the rain looks horrible, driving, the weather didn’t affect the handling at all. Again, LACK of “care” in development.
- Not only that……….how, why have you NOT included a FULL DYNAMIC WEATHER SYSTEM?????? (Major STORMS, Tornadoes, Hurricanes, SNOW STORMS, etc. etc. etc. (everything based on the “region”)………..and hopefully you will NOT have it raining in Las Vegas EVERYTIME we drive there in this game like you have happening in the Original game??? (STILL NOT FIXED by the way)
- GRAPHICS: This is 2018……there is NO EXCUSE for this. We should be seeing nothing LESS than what we saw/see in Far Cry 5. The Crew 2 Graphics are “Mediocre” at best….and nothing even CLOSE to all the promos/trailers you have been showing us (and STILL show us now).
Is this a JOKE to you???? Do I even need to describe these to you all??? I’m not even going to get into it because it is so BAD!!! (from just being very Sloppy, “blocky, to UN-RESEARCHED” (which is a total lie from developers interviews)……to just NOTHING that looks like ANYTHING in real life.
- Hoover Dam (missing key features)
- Grand Canyon (totally unrealistic and “Blocky”(just large “round” blocks stacked on top of eachother)….looks HORRIBLE!!!
- Yosemite Valley….are you kidding me?? NOTHING recognizable (Half-Dome, Falls, etc.)
- Niagra Falls Laughable!!! NOTHING even close…….not even “horseshoe” shape…..and where is the “American” falls (or is/was that it……and the game is actually missing Niagra??)
- Alcatraz Island?? WHERE is it??? If it is supposed to be that large island with those “HOUSES” on it that is not even in the correct “location” in the bay???.......WOW, again, major embarrassment.
And again, shows an absolute lack of research!!! (or just pure stupidity….YOUR staff who just don’t care)
- Chicago…..where is the “Sears Tower”!!! The TALLEST tower in the city (seriously????)
- Washington, DC Can it get worse??? Yes it can!!
- The Lincoln Memorial has replaced “Lincoln” with half-naked woman touching her crotch!......(again, an absolute disgrace to a “Memorial” which should have been PROUDLY reproduced!!!) ALSO, missing MANY “iconic” buildings..FBI, CIA, the Smithsonian “Castle”
As for the “White House”…..the BACK? (square entrance side) is HORRIBLE…..has “dirt” roads leading to a “block” of STAIRS (where in REALITY…….it is a COVERED entrance/foyer) with PAVED roads!!!! Again, ANYONE in the WORLD should know this without doing research!!! - New York……The new World Trade Center is NOT supposed to be “square” as you have it in the game…..it has unique angles to it (you’d know that if you did “research”).
ALSO in New York………where is the 9/11 Memorial??? Again, VERY sad this is missing!!!!! This should NEVER be missing from ANY game (regardless).
****Be honest, you guys did NO RESEARCH at all for this game, did you…….and WHO actually MADE THIS GAME???? Honestly, if ANYONE on this Earth made this game, ALL of the above are known by literally EVERYONE, no matter where you are from!!! So, tell me, HOW do you completely screw up these kinds of things???? I’m from Canada, and I am completely embarrassed by how the USA is being shown in this game……it is an absolute disgrace!!!
- Edge of map - We don’t see the “Edge of the map/game” on the MINIMAP……(we need SOMETHING…….even just “BLACK” to know we are at the edge of the playable area)
- So, when we drive, fly, boat OFF the map, etc…..we are INSTANTLY reset without any notice. And that is also REALLY frustrating, because we should be given a “Warning” first…….allowing us to “manually” turn back!!!
- The game size / map - It’s BORING!!! It’s literally the SAME GAME!!!! (yes, you’ve added flying, boats, etc.)……….but it’s literally the SAME “locations”.
- At the VERY LEAST………there is NO EXCUSE for you guys to have “expanded” into LOWER CANADA (which I sent a VERY DETAILED suggestion to you several times…..obviously ignored as well, just like everything else)………
- No reason to NOT include at LEAST (Vancouver, BC (including up to Whistler)……Toronto, Montreal……….and maybe even Calgary (which you could include Banff/Lake Louise, etc…….you’d have “Hwy 1” which goes the entire length our our beautiful country….which would make for an AMAZING race across the upper part of the map, etc……..and adding that extra “playable” area would have made this game SO MUCH better because it showed you actually cared about making the game “bigger” and “better” than ever.
And NOT just adding more vehicles to basically the SAME GAME.
Either that, or you should have gone to Europe instead……because I’m sorry, but playing the Betas was really boring because I’ve already seen everything before (despite the new vehicles.) Still NOT work $80!!!
- GPS - Where is that “on-screen” GPS (the BLUE line) that is on the screen to help guide us to our waypoints, etc.???? That is HEAVILY missed and NEEDED!!!!
The “minimap” is NOT good enough!!! Not only that……….my experience with the “mini-map” was NOT a good one……….it was NOT tracking me well at all…..and the directions it was taking me was HORRIBLE and NOT “direct” in anyway!!! (in some cases, it was trying to have me drive THROUGH “solid buildings and objects”…………..and when I would drive OFF the track, it would take a LONG time to “reset” and find me again, etc…….so I had no idea which way I was supposed to be going!!!
- As with basically EVERYTHING………you need to give us “OPTIONS” to turn things on or off…….don’t just REMOVE things from games because you don’t want it there. I don’t know what you think you’re doing???? Think of us gamers (and especially the “amateur” gamers out there that rely on the assistance, etc. of these great things)……when you produce games (like you almost always do) that have very LITTLE options, etc…….it’s very frustrating……because it means that YOU think YOU know what we want and how WE want to play. Well, you DON’T know!!!! We all play games DIFFERENT……so you need to give us “options” so every player can adjust the game to THEIR OWN playstyle!!......not just the way “YOU” want it! (in which YOU are probably not even a gamer, right??)
- DRIVING - MAJOR problem with ALL Vehicles. When driving DOWNHILL…….no matter how steep a hill is……..all my cars would automatically “slow down” and STOP! (no, I was NOT “braking” at all)……
Cars do NOT do this…….on ANY hill…..they would COAST……and even SPEED UP!!! This MUST be fixed!!!
- JUMPS - This is HORRIBLE!!! Boats AND Cars…….any Jump I would take …..I would get almost NO “Air”……because the car/boat with drop like a rock!!!! (as someone in a youtube video was saying)……..it’s like the “Gravity” in the game is all messed up!
However, the planes seem to be ok???? (at least as far as I could tell (a part from all the stupid crashes, etc. as I’ve explained earlier…..again, it is so stupid we get NO damage)
- Boat Views - Please check ALL the camera views (possibly may be an issue in some or ALL OTHER VEHICLES AS WELL????..........I only found this at the very end of the last day of Open Beta)
- In “hood” view on the boat…….when I looked BACK……the view was looking “UP” at an angle where I could barely see the competitors, couldn’t see ANY water, etc. (yet the OTHER views seemed to be FINE if I looked back). So, obviously, something needs fixing. Again, could be an issue with EVERY vehicle in the game??? (not just boats)….needs checking for sure
- The “LIVE EVENT” (the one we got to play in Betas)
1. We did not have any ability to “PLAY AGAIN”???? There was no point of interest, etc. on our map to be able to go and REPLAY this again????
****I am EXTREMELY concerned that this means that we will once again (like the original game) will NOT be able to “replay” the “campaign”??? You MUST LET US REPLAY OUR GAME!!!! (Reset our game to replay EVERYTHING if we wish!)
2. During the “Live Event” (BOTH Betas)………I was WAY BEHIND at each of the “vehicle changes” (boats, planes)…………..HOWEVER………when I changed into my new vehicles, I was “Miraculously” put directly behind the competition (who was WAY AHEAD). So, that should NOT BE HAPPENING!!!!! If You have any kind of “catch up” cheating programming installed, etc……….STOP IT!!! Take it out, turn it off, etc……..or give us the “option” to have it. DO NOT ALLOW IT AUTOMATICALLY. It’s not fair for US……….OR the “AI”
- Motorcycles - The “Dash View” is looking DOWN way too far…….I see more of the BIKE than I do of the ROAD. That should NOT be! That needs to be fixed……..and/or……give us OPTIONS to adjust the camera views, etc.
- Rivers, etc. There no “Whitewater”……..AND……ALL of them are just “FLAT” and they are just “Angled” (just like in Far Cry 5)…….completely UNREALISTIC!!!! (looks absolutely STUPID!!!, sloppy
- You didn’t take the time or care to add “curved” connections, different textrure to make it look like rivers, etc………even a “pull” of the rivers if you are on the downslope, etc. should be in the game.
- More Vehicle TYPES Give us more TYPES of vehicles to drive in the game! Again, you completely ignored us in the original game……..but give us ALL TYPES of vehicles to drive around, race and play with!!!
EVERYTHING from little scooters, trucks, vans, cars, planes, boats, etc. etc. (not just “RACE” vehicles). *****There’s nothing more fun sometimes than seeing a race in an everyday mix of REGULAR types of vehicles……not always just supercars, boats, planes.
Imagine a “Yacht” race…..or a “biplane” race, or something, etc……again, the “types” are endless……and if you’re chargin as much as you are………..there NEEDS to be a HUGE selection of vehicles!
- Environment SOUNDS- WOW, this is VERY BAD!!! Again, I found this near the END of my testing, etc……..but you have “JUNGLE” sounds in places where there should be “Ocean waves”…….Birds chirping, etc. etc. I’m not even going to explain……because it’s so bad.
But you guys have to Redo your ENTIRE “environmental” sounds……….and get someone that actually KNOWS what they’re doing………..do REAL “research” on the regions and get THOSE sounds in the game. There are no “JUNGLES” in the USA………..The “Amazon” rainforest sounds do NOT belong throughout the game………..and especially when we’re out in the ocean (where there should be WAVES crashing about. Idiots!
- Map Edges TOO Close to playable areas. You have at least SOME areas in the game where you have the edges of the map WAY TOO CLOSE to “Playable” areas.
Eg…..one area that NEEDS to be opened up more is around “SEATTLE”……the edge of the map is way too close there. MUST be moved at least farther “North” (possibly farther “West”, not sure)…….I didn’t have a chance to check other areas of map……..but I presume this is a problem in other areas as well.
- Weather - Ok, the clouds are AWESOME!!!!! (Thank you for this at least…..)
- HOWEVER…….the clouds “move” way too fast! (extremely “Unrealistic”)……..this is much more noticeable in the Northern mountain region. They were moving at least 200+ MPH (I couldn’t keep up with them in the plane!.......they “LOOK” amazing, but “act” completely wrong!
- As before, please make sure you have MULTIPLE weather events……….(Snow in higher elevations, Lightning storms, etc. etc. etc.
- Day/ Night cycle…… I found that the DAY cycle went by way too FAST…….but the NIGHT time was much LONGER! This definitely needs to be adjusted for sure! The DAY should be LONG……..and the nights should be at least the SAME (but I think they should be at least a little SHORTER)
- Boat Races Again, NO WAVES…….even the “Announcer” was/is warning us and talking about “using the waves” to our advantage, etc………..well, we CAN’T do that when there are NO WAVES in races to even do that?? (because the waves are hundreds of yards out to see, instead of in the GAMEPLAY areas where they should be ALSO)
- All “Skills” while driving, etc. don’t have any SYMBOLS, etc. (like in the original game) to tell us / show us WHAT it is far in advance of us getting to it………and by the time the “text” shows up, we’re going WAY TOO FAST to be able to react when we get to it, depending on what the “skill” actually is!!!
Why you guys changed this from the original is just mind boggling??? This needs to be fixed!......or even “color-code” them so we at least have SOME idea what we’re going to LONG BEFORE we get to it (and especially being able to know what it is by looking on the FULL MAP (even the MINI-MAP)
- HEADLIGHTS As of now, these are absolutely USELESS…..unless you fix them.
For one, you have NOT given us ANY control to change them (Hi / Lo beams)
Secondly…….at the brightness you have them as is…….they are illuminating NOTHING!!!!........in the dead of night…….they are ONLY lighting about 5-10 feet in front of ANY of the vehicles…..which is absolutely INSANE!!!! (hence not only the need for “hi-beams”…..but the MUST for us to have ability to adjust the “Display” settings…….otherwise the game is literally UNPLAYABE during the night! How you people AGAIN missed this I don’t understand!
ALSO……….the lights are coming on “too late” in the day……..they need to come on MUCH SOONER!!!!
So again, LOTS to fix………and you MUST give us control to not only change Lo / Hi……but ALSO turn them ON/OFF “manually!!!
- The “LIVE REWARDS” The “locator” beeping, etc. is the ONLY location tracking we get. There is the blinking “light” around the edges of the minimap, too……but it is NOT giving us a general ‘direction’ of the Reward (like in the original game). It makes it VERY HARD to find these rewards, especially in a CROWDED CITY!!!!
Again, how or WHY you guys removed this feature is beyond belief! Bring it back or give us the OPTION!
- ALL vehicle “cameras” We are unable to look “UP” in ANY of the cameras (this is ALSO an issue in the original game (STILL NOT FIXED)…………but is now even MORE crucial in THIS GAME……….since you have included “PLANES”………..we MUST be able to look in EVERY DIRECTION!!!!! For obvious reasons, or do I need to explain why?? (but also for just “exploration”)
****So, there you have it….and what’s even worse? I don’t even want to think what I have NOT found…….and just shows more and more how you spend more time making your ADS and TRAILERS look amazing……but if only you spent that time and effort on the games themselves??? You’d be AMAZING!!!! I swear one of these days, someone is going to do a class-action lawsuit on you guys for false-advertising, etc. for what you show at E3’s, trailers, etc. etc. (Actual Gameplay) and then when the games come out….the graphics, etc. are so horribly “Downgraded” (as they call it) doesn’t even look like the same game in some cases).
STOP LYING……….just tell us the TRUTH……..show the “REAL” you……or just don’t show anything at all until you are DONE.
Not only that………stop “RUSHING”………..take MORE time to finish games “properly”. This one is a MASSIVE example because if you can’t see it……it needs probably at LEAST 6 months??? Or more work before it is up to the standards you not only promoted…..but what we deserve and what your company puts out.
This is an absolute embarrassment from your company. I highly recommend you STOP this release NOW before it’s too late!!!!
As I said at the beginning….and now “hopefully” EVERYONE will pay attention to ALL of this for once……you guys will actually “care” enough to FIX this game (and EVERYGAME you do from this moment on)……and no longer just do a “minimal” job on so many of your games (again, SOME games you do are AMAZING……….but on the “surface”, only LOOK amazing……but are still filled with so many horrible problems that you guys have just not take the time or effort to fix or care enough to iron out BEFORE release……..and even AFTER RELEASE either.
And I am a perfect example of how you IGNORE us. Literally, EVERY SINGLE time I have contacted you with complaints about issues, problems, etc……….like what you see above (but this is certainly a SEVERE example…..and the absolute WORST I have ever seen from you)………..you have NEVER, not even ONCE, actually “Fixed” or “followed through” with me to ensure that ANY of the problems I have reported to you have EVER been fixed!!!!
After a game gets released…….you just don’t care anymore……….and/or, you ONLY care about pumping out as much PAID content as possible with is honestly “worthless” crap in many cases that is so expensive it’s ridiculous. Well, no more I say. I don’t know what YOU need to do, but I can only hope that all of “US” will finally wake up and see how you simply don’t care about ‘us” anymore…….and you don’t care about the “quality control” of your games anymore in anyway……and THE CREW 2 is the perfect example of that.
I am truly sorry……..but you can’t be upset at me for anything I’ve said as it is all true……and the proof is not only in the game you are releasing now…….but in “almost” every game you have released in the past as well that you have not taken the time and care to “finish”……and especially FIX after release. Yet basically EVERY OTHER developer out there does an amazing job at doing all they can to “perfect” their games even long after their release (but many times, the top ones which you SHOULD be up their with, have very few issues and are nearly perfect) at the time of their release anyway……..giving us the most amazing experiences (and THAT”s a company that truly “cares”).
You need to truly strive to put “US” first instead of yourselves…..you’ve obviously forgotten that.
