I played the closed & open betas with my G27 (which works mildly alright in the original The Crew) but it's basically like using a paper plate to drive in this. Like I said during the closed beta, the "wheel support" (I use this term extremely lightly now) is pretty much non-existent. No matter what settings I adjust in game or Logitech Profiler it seems nothing is translated through the game properly. The game locks the wheel to 360 degrees and has absolutely ZERO force feedback, as if you're holding a napkin, yet sometimes it decides to add a metric ton of artificial resistance without rhyme nor reason which also feels awful as all it's doing is forcing the wheel back to center against your inputs like a thick rubber band was pulling on it. The most abysmal FFB I've ever felt and this game is supposed to launch in a few days?
For reference, my setup with the G27 feels absolutely incredible in other racing games. And yes, I know this is an arcade game but if you play with a controller please keep your opinions to yourself as you won't understand. Wheel owners will know that even for an arcade game this is absolutely awful. I play Forza Horizon 3 (an arcade open world racer) that feels miles better than this game and that's on the lower end of FFB standards.
I have a feeling that BattlEye nonsense is blocking the wheel drivers from properly interacting with the game since my wheel at least works with the original The Crew and the settings (wheel rotation/FFB strength/etc.) that I change in Profiler are reflected in the game. Nothing works properly in The Crew 2 with a wheel.
Thanks for the beta. I now know this game is tailored for controllers only. Saved me some cash.
