Hey there everyone. PS4 user here on a standard ps4.
Never played the first crew, tried it very quickly but w/e it didn't stick so I played Driveclub and Project Cars.
After a full year or 2 of the sim life I needed a break and the Crew 2 has done a great job of filling that role. I have a wheel but don't use it and its fun to just pick up and play this game. After logging several hours over the weekend I have a very positive outlook on the game. I played most of it with my GF who is new to video games (Age 25-30 for both of us) and we played last night from 8pm till 1am. Just tooling around having fun, racing each other. I really liked that this game is user friendly in that someoen who has maybe 1 month of racing video game experience can hang with a user who has years of practice and still have fun.
Sure there are things I would like to change or notice on and they are as follows
UI
1. Id really like a fast travel home button or on the map. Having to zoom out and refocus everytime you wanted to chance a visual item is annoying.
2. Livery Searching is cumbersome, only one livery will load at a time so its not easy to sift through 100. Maybe a grid format that allows you to see at a distance and then zoom in on what you actually want. Not everything is tagged correctly with filters. (racing liveries not tagged as pro racing)
3. Idk how i feel about the mailbox system. I like the mailbox being at home not the HQ. The only reason i ever visited HQ was to buy open the mailbox. Yes you can buy cars there but the mailbox piece is key.
4. wheel colors, many of the wheels are dark in nature so that painting them bright yellow still looks dull. Maybe have more paint texture choices?
Vehicle Controls
In general some sort of tutorial or info system under pro settings would be helpful. Right now your average user might not know what ESP means or how it affects a car. Or that if you mess with reactivity on the stunt plane you can really mess up your ability to do outside looping manuevers. Some descriptors could be useful.
Aero-Looping sensitivity is rough. Sometimes your loop could be slightly off and no points, othertimes the plan could wiggle a bunch and still get a perfect loop. Not sure what the criteria is for a perfect looping scenario.
No rearview mirrors in cockpit mode-dangerous when in touring car at high speeds
It would be nice to have a expert flying mode where the controls were made independant of the joysticks (use R stick for aierlon control)
Online things
Many times my "crew" members liveries would not show up on my screen only their chosen base color. Kinda stinks as I assume everyone else just sees me driving around in a basic color car. The ability for custom visual touches is awesome so to have it squandered when everyone else sees your car was dissapointing
Voice chat? I wasn't aware if other people in the session or world could hear me. A togglled voice chat could be helpful (with mute options) to interact with other users.
Thats all for now. Very fun game and looking forward to playing the full version. Pre-ordered the standard version. The other tiers didn't interest me since it was all content that could be unlocked later in the game.
THanks for sharing your game with us!
This last bit is honestly just a selfish want but hopefully someone else wants the same.
Could you add the TCR-class cars to this game??
mk7 Gti TCR, Audi RS3 LMS TCR.
My favorite discipline in the game is Touring car and I see the foucs RS but what fun we could have to have the FWD action of TCR car in this game. Also who ever came up with the Leopard Livery for the GTI was a genius thank you!
