Not sure what has been mentioned or not, so here are some personal observations from playing the open beta. Sure hope some will be fixed once released.
- It is annoying that windows throws an UAC prompt whenever this game is started from within uplay.
- Two lockups with black screen and only the word "live" flashing in colors forever in the lower right corner.
- One hard crash, asking me to submit a crash report, which I did.
- The Radeon 500 series has been out for over a year, but is not listed as supported on the requirements page. (This is a problem for all ubisoft games, though. The list goes up to the 400 series, then skips to "vega".) Running Radeon RX 570 here.
- After 60000 miles in the "Crew 1", it was initially difficult to get the new key mappings into muscle memory.
- The initial screen with "start your story" also needs a "continue current story" choice. I sure hope that the current beta achievements (>1 Million bucks!) will carry over into the full game. (After having played the short closed beta, I pressed "start your story" in the open beta because it was the only choice and was surprised that none of the achievements carried over from the closed beta and I had to start over with the original four gauntlet races. Maybe this was by design, but maybe I should have pressed <esc> instead. Hard to tell, but I wasn't able to test and start over again, of course.)
- Certain things are poorly documented. For example once I got a cryptic message that something was in the "mailbox". Took me a long time to figure out where that is...
There are the major critical points. Things look pretty good otherwise.

Its funny you say this, because I had always assumed that I would be buying the game at a hefty discount because of all the problems I had with the AI on "Hard" difficulty in races, the lazy rubberband AI, and the fact that I would NEED the Season Pass to reduce grinding but am unwilling to pay LMAO $99.99 USD for the Gold Edition. So I figured, after getting info on Gold and combined with my experience with the AI in the open beta, that I would wait for a VERY deep discount to buy the game at a more reasonable price.Originally Posted by TGMayhem Go to original post
But your post just made a light bulb go on in my head, lol or over it. It will probably take 3-4 months before the price of the Gold version of TC2 comes down to what I would be willing to pay for it. So that begs the question, why not simply buy Forza 4 instead, which would probably release around the same time?
I can see how this would be a good summer game for some people. Luckily, in my case, I have a ton of games for the PS4 Pro, XBOne, and PC I have procrastinated starting, so I have plenty of summer games to keep me going. So I would only buy this game when the price comes down AND if they fixed the terrible AI, the latter I expect to NEVER happen, while the former certainly will.Originally Posted by TGMayhem Go to original post
I know next to nothing about FORZA, though. Maybe I should start researching it?
