In-game FPS limiter is broken, Causes stuttering

There is something wrong with the way the game limits framerate which is causing stuttering due to frametime spikes.

Here is a video using the default in game 60fps cap.( look at the frame time readout)

Here is a video using RivaTuner to cap the fps to 60 (notice the difference in frame times)

Hydro, can you do a little step by step how to set this riva tuner up and where to get it. Your experience seems to be greatly improved with riva tuner on.

I got a basic FPS number from Riva with FPS limit but how do you get that overlay with all those stats and frame speed tracking etc? If it's MSI Afterburner what skin overlay are you using that is really nice?

In MSi afterburner click settings and go to the monitoring tab. You should see a section called Active Hardware Monitoring Graphs. In that section just tick what you want to monitor, Make sure you click Show in On-screen Display for each of the things you select from the list or it wont show when you are in game

    It should looks like this

I have also tweaked the layout on my one so your on screen display will looke a little different

Thanks I have just tweaked all my settings and visuals and looks similar to yours now which is a great way to visualise the data. Now to run more tests.

What CPU are you using? my i5-3570 with benchmark score below is maxing out even with the game on basic high settings. I'd be interested what your CPU usage is, what graphics preset and what CPU so i can do some comparing.

Is it still possible to do this? Ive experienced really bad stuttering since release, ive tried dooing it myself with Msi afterburner and RTSS but i cant seem to get it working with TC2, works with every other game though.
