Do people really talk like in Crew 2?

I am not trying to be negative.

I understand what this game is trying to do: offer a guided tour through a narrative experience; trying to keep players engaged, blending in with the fake (and real) social media themes. Become famous. Become a 'pro', etc, etc … absolutely nothing wrong with that approach to a 'racing game'.

What make ME wonder though is the tone of the people and the way they address the player...

    • Do people really talk like that?

    • What age group is this game aiming for?

Seriously. I would like to understand. This game comes from a big triple A publisher and developer. The developers and producers must have had endless meetings, addressing that very issue: "who are we talking to?".

I do not mind that the game is not 'speaking to me'. "Not every game can be everything for everyone". But - again - who are they talking to? I would not talk to an eight year old like that.

I wondered about this, too. The dialogue is awful.
