    Lost Access to DLC Weapons

Has anyone else purchased DLC as a primary PS4 account & lose the ability to share weapon unlocks to the other accounts on your PS4?

Here are excerpts from my support chats from Ubisoft & Sony:

Both companies are claiming the other one can fix this issue.

All DLC is supposed to be shareable. Do not buy DLC if you are planning on sharing it. They have no idea how their own system works.

From what I'm reading (including the chat logs), Sony is telling you that the content is only available on the account which you purchased the content from. I'm not sure what the confusion here is. I know for myself, personally, when I purchase content on ANY game, I have to make sure I purchase it on all accounts if I want them on all those accounts. I have to purchase twice for my own account, and then for my husband's account. The content isn't attached to the system, but the account.

    Thank you for responding.

Sony's official policy is that all purchasable DLC is shareable by a primary account holder. The Fallen Ghosts DLC bundles the weapon unlocks along with it -you know this because you've answered this question many times. It isn't clear that the weapon unlocks are not part of the DLC & not shareable like normal DLC. That part is confusing.

What's even more confusing is that after I bought the season pass, my girlfriend had access to the Fallen Ghosts weapon unlocks initially. We stopped playing and booted the game up for the first time in while, but found that she had lost access to these weapons. So they changed the weapon unlocks to account bound perks for one of the updates during our hiatus.

I think players should be informed of exactly what they are purchasing & if their access to content has the potential to be changed without notice.

Just like what Sony guy said there, you CAN buy and share your purchase from PSN with another account.

HOWEVER, as part of Sony's prevention to mass content-sharing, this can only happen within your authorization and that is by having to set the console as your account's primary console or have your account logged-in when the purchased content is being shared (apparently Sony also said this in your chat). This what you need to re-check again on your part.

Secondly, most importantly, and just like the Sony guy said there again, the decision of which content is allowed to be shared across accounts IS in the hands of the game developer. Just like Sony staff said there, in-game unlocks is not guaranteed.

Now I'm confused which DLC you're talking about specifically, but I'm gonna assume it's the Fallen Ghost since you said it a few times. And what you are trying to get from Fallen Ghost is the ability to unlock its weapon in the Main Campaign, is this correct? And so you are trying to make the weapon unlocks happen in your girlfriend's game, is this also correct?

Have your girlfriend finished the Fallen Ghost DLC? Because this is one of the requirements to unlock the weapons in the Main Campaign. Make sure this is done on your part as well.

Sony & Ubisoft walked me through a bunch of troubleshooting steps. My PS4 is set as primary.

My girlfriend initially had access to all Fallen Ghost weapons, including the crossbow & BFG sniper. Now those weapons are locked. Neither of us had completed Fallen Ghosts. I still have not completed it & I have all of the weapons unlocked in the main campaign.

I could not get a clear answer from Sony or Ubisoft if this is intentional. Were the unlocks removed from account wide sharing? Was that the way it was supposed to be the whole time? No one will answer that question.

I had finished Fallen Ghost campaign when the FG-weapons-in-main-campaign update came out and it took me a couple of day for it to appear in my main campaign.

In this case, instability due to a bug is possible, bearing in mind that having the weapons to appear in main campaign wasn't what FG DLC exactly meant to be.

Neither of Ubi and Sony will answer the question because it's very much possible for both of them that they didn't do anything to said DLC recently as you suspected and they will pretty much need each other if they gonna do something to it.

I have multiple accounts as well and quite often doing a cross account purchase. From my experience is that DLC may be really unstable when it comes to authentication. Sometimes I need to reset the system, sometimes I need to get them re-authenticated again by logging in or resetting the primary console setting, etc.

So again the question is that, can your girlfriend see the Fallen Ghost DLC campaign on the main menu - at all times? This is like the first step to narrow down the case and escalate the investigation. And if she can see it in the main menu, try playing it for a couple of missions and try completing it if it still didn't appear.

Because what I see in the FG weapon description boxes in the main campaign is that you have to finish the DLC to unlock it. So it's worth a try in the end considering you have made the purchase after all.
