i haven't done GA yet. but we farm amherst like a breeze. and madison's ok, but less farmable. the end of madison is tougher, as the layout allows for regular flanking and disruption. so to farm legendary, we've been running amherst. prolly, 20-30 mins. i run 4 piece reclaimer, 2 piece tacticians. if i'm lucky, my 2 friends with 6 piece strikers squad up w me, and add a random and breeze through it. layout makes the final battle more manageable. everybody runs the life support support station. cuz usually every body goes down once or twice from a sniper hit, or a crazy flank and melee from being pinned down. recovery link is always safe to run with, for an easy resurrection for a distant ally. but a tac link can help on the hunter at the end.
anyway, haven't done GA yet, but it's cuz we keep farming amherst easily. and i haven't seen any real reason yet to farm a harder mission.
I've found it fairly doable - easier than Madison.
The first bit can be a bit tough if someone is lagging/poor server performance though for some reason - the NPCs seem to flank/get impossibly close faster than you'd think intuitively not quite sure what is going on there - I think sometimes the NPCs must be invisible or something as 2 people on my team were acting like they couldn't even see the 2 rushers that were right on top of us and downing the team on one recent attempt that ended in failing - not just as sometimes happens where you get people with poor awareness/lacking experience.
As with any mission, if you're getting flanked then fall back and find a choke point.
For the start of GA specifically you can fight from the top of the bridge above where you pick up the explosives. That gives you range and any rushers don't come past the gates. Just have a sniper rifle on hand to pick off the long range NPCs. A lot of my play on GA is solo using Tactician but there are a few points to watch out for.
IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS THEN DON'T READ ON.
1. In the final part of the underground car park, just before you reach the courtyard, you will get rushed just as you finish killing the other LMB and get the success message for "Eliminate the LMB". The rushers come from behind and in front and there's 8 in total. So be ready and have a plan, especially if you're soloing it.
2. There's a new spawn between entering the GA building and getting to the office that has the heavy, healer etc. If you rush in and head upstairs then you're going to get a surprise, and not a pleasant one.
3. You don't get the benefit of using the turrets to take down the chopper at the end. That said, it's no stronger than the chopper in the normal mission so just take it out with your AR.
Other than that the normal (well normal for me) strategies and places to fight from work just fine. It took about 4 runs to solo it without dying, mainly due to those 8 rushers. Once I had a plan for them it went pretty easily. Madison is definitely harder due to the wonderful pre-hit grenade damage.
Ran it solo with my TA and didnt have any issues, died once right when i blew up the chopper as i wasnt expecting one more group to attack but lesson learned. I liked it more than Madison personally. The chopper could of used some more tinkering with as im pretty sure its the exact same as the Hard version.
What are you running? Cause I would drop back and round around my teammates if the NPC is just chasing you. Cause that is just harsh.Originally Posted by psycomad81 Go to original post
When you 1st go in, there is ladder to your left. Did you try sending a player or 2 up there? It give you the high ground. You can plant a turret onto the fence below that will cover the whole field. It would also give you good coverage of the whole area. Be careful of the Red NPCs that will try to come up behind you, I don't think they are from the actually mission.Originally Posted by HoneyBunzSwitch Go to original post
Be thankful you weren't around in the 1.4/1.5 days. People use to "farm" Dragons Nest and one axe guy would wipe an entire team with one swing. Legendaries are a return to these days with high time-to-kill and usually requiring some tactics, teamwork and team build cohesion.Originally Posted by psycomad81 Go to original post
