I connect a PS4 controller on PC to play the game and the target switching problem is really killing me.
The problem that I am facing right now is that whenever in team fights, my defense mode keeps changing to new targets like randomly, and I didn't even press any button.
The system will change target for me automatically when another hero is trying to hit me, I cannot keep my lock on the same target when fighting two or more heroes and this put me into a huge disadvantage in team fights because I cannot block **** due to the frequent and random change of targets.
I did not have such issue on PS4, and the same issue does not occur when I use keyboard and mouse to play on PC instead of using a PS4 controller.
I use the toggle option for defense.
Some of my friends also have the exact same problem.
Therefore, I want to know if this is a bug or there is an option not to change target at all.

However if I do not press any button and just try to block attacks by moving my right stick, the problem seems not to occur, I think it only happens when I try to make a move.
I didn't manually switch target in the video. it was all auto switch.
uhm to me this looks like the typical problem you get when you use toggle lock on. If it is enabled you have target switch on R3. Due to the weird sensitivity (talking about the pressure you need to apply to trigger the button function) in this game you don't have to press the R3 button until you hear it click so target switching happens quite frequently whenever you try to parry an outside attack or just try to block it since your thumb pressure on the analog stick got a little to high. Your video footage kind of looks very much like this is what's happening too.
I was on about that topic since day 1 and played with numerous controllers (PS1, custom PS3 and a PS4 controller) and the problem would be more or less still there (with the last controllers less prominent than with my old PS1 controller).
You have basically 2 options to fix this issue for you. Either rebind target switch to a different button or get used to the default target switch via L2 but at the suspense of having to hold L2 all the time you want to remain in combat.
Since the last option was always suboptimal and not working too well for me I mapped Target Switch to L1. Now I just randomly call out for help in 4v4 when I did not intend it to and quick chat access and usage of the more imbedded quickchat options are not as convientely accessable anymore but it really worked out for me and helped me to finally have a much better control in group fights.
Bro, I came back to this game after two years, and your method worked! Not sure if leaving message in such an old thread is appropriate, but I really want to say thanks to you cause this problem has been bothering me since I played on PC.Originally Posted by Klingentaenz3r Go to original post
