    Year 2 Q&A BS

    1. Why did you decide to do a 2nd year of content?

First of all, it was from seeing all of the incredible excitement and enthusiasm from our community for our post-launch releases. Since launching Ghost Recon Wildlands, we have introduced our PVP Mode, Ghost War, new maps and classes, 2 DLCs and of course some of our more recent PVE content, such as the Predator mission and bringing Sam Fisher to the Wildlands. Every time we have delivered new content, our community has been really engaged, so this is a big driver to keep on delivering. And of course as a Dev, you want to see your game live for as long as possible. So with over 10 million players now playing the game, and newcomers arriving every day, we want to keep the community entertained for as long as we can.

"Our community has been so engaged"... complaining about the poor implementation, the glitches and bugs, the month long weekly challenges, the lack of new weapons, the constant reskinning of existing weapons.

"So with over 10 million players now playing"... You mean 10 million who have played. I haven't seen the numbers but I can guarantee it is not even a quarter of that. I only load the game to see what the monthly weekly challenge will be and then I forget about it for another month and play engaging games like 7 Days to Die, and to a lesser extent FC5 which doesn't require you to spend additional money to get new stuff.

    ************************************************** **********************************************

    2. How do you decide upon new content for the game?

For each update, and especially for Year 2, we try as much as possible to have a good balance between PVE and PVP content. This is something we know our community wanted us to improve from Year 1, so it is definitely a priority for us this year. Next, we want to make sure all of our player base is engaged, from our veterans to newcomers, so we work on content that will appeal to all of this large audience. And of course, we want to ensure community feedback is being listened to, so we are adding community requested features with every update. As an example, AI Teammate Customization was a hugely requested feature that we added with our most recent update, Special Operation 1. Additionally, we scour our forums to get ideas for our content themes, such as our most recent cross-over with Splinter Cell. So keep on discussing guys, we’re listening!

"And of course, we want to ensure community feedback is being listened to, so we are adding community requested features with every update."... I'm sorry did I miss the addition of bipods and smoke grenades into the game?

"Additionally, we scour our forums to get ideas for our content themes, such as our most recent cross-over with Splinter Cell. So keep on discussing guys, we’re listening!"... Am I on the wrong forum? Where was Sam Fisher ever discussed vis a vis bringing him into GRW? I used to read the forum religiously and I don't remember anyone asking for that or Predator or Yeti. I remember better squad AI requests and AI customization requests (which we got when the game was all but dead), and bipods, and smoke grenades and better military type clothing and gear.

    ************************************************** **********************************************

    3. How will you keep growing the playerbase and community?

In two ways. First all, by listening. Our community’s feedback is a huge deciding factor when working on new content. We want to make sure our players are enjoying the game so that our community will continue to grow organically. Secondly, we are looking into more opportunities to give all players access to Ghost Recon Wildlands through additional Free Weekends and promotions.

"Our community’s feedback is a huge deciding factor when working on new content."... That is why most of what people asked for was ignored and not implimented. You got tons of great stuff from the community and ignored 99% of it.

    ************************************************** **********************************************

    4. How do you input community feedback into new content?

Our Community Managers across the world are our eyes and ears on the ground. They are in constant, daily contact with our players, and share with the studio everything they see and hear. This community feedback is a huge driving factor for finalizing our roadmaps!

"They are in constant, daily contact with our players, and share with the studio everything they see and hear."... I am sure they share it but talking to a deaf guy behind his back doesn't impart information to him very well does it? Seriously were you drunk when you made this questionnaire? Because a lot of this is BS. I can't walk in my house anymore it is so thick.

    ************************************************** **********************************************

    5. How will you keep on top of bugs in between these updates?

Our Community Managers keep a constant track of our bugs, and players can always contact our customer service if they are facing issues. If we ever became aware of a bug that is seriously impacting our players, we would of course deploy a hotfix in-between our updates to address it. We are also currently updating our Known Issues page where you can keep track of our bugs, but in the meantime, here is the link to our current page.

"If we ever became aware of a bug that is seriously impacting our players, we would of course deploy a hotfix in-between our updates to address it."... Did I miss the hotfix that fixed the problems with the Fallen Ghost weapons from being added to the main game, or the vehicle spawn fix, or a fix for bullet velocity or higher power scopes?

    ************************************************** **********************************************

    6. Will there be more items/weapons added for customization in PVE?

Yes! We have seen the huge interest you guys have in customizing your Ghosts, so you can definitely expect more customization items to be added throughout Year 2.

"so you can definitely expect more customization items to be added throughout Year 2."... I will believe it when I see it. Also will it be free or will I have to pay for it like everything else in this game?

    ************************************************** **********************************************

    7. Are you planning any PVE content beyond challenges?

We are yes, but it’s too early for us to share any details on that yet!

"it’s too early for us to share any details on that yet!"... "We won't tell you until 15 minutes before we release it, if we even do." You forgot to finish your statement.

    ************************************************** **********************************************

    10. Is there anything in the game that we have been asking for that can't be added?

Some requests would unfortunately require a big overhaul of the game engine, changing our whole approach. For example, a Mission Editor. The same goes for Bloused Boots: if we could simply add it, we would! But it actually requires a huge rework of our Charactersmith, which is also something we can’t envisage right now. But, this doesn’t mean we don’t have a ton of great content coming: our time and effort is being put into something else!

"The same goes for Bloused Boots"... How hard is it to make a body part with a tucked away pant leg? Seems like some kind of BS to me. You just add the same pants but with them tucked. I would think that AI customization would be a harder thing to implement then just a bunch of new pants.

Pretty much everything I thought when reading the q&a; They literally lied on multiple counts. Truly no exaggeration. Even my request for response to multiple discrepancies continues to be ignored.

Poundsign worst game development team 2018?

Let me take the honor. Yea, it's obvious BS.

    To the OP:
"Our community has been so engaged"
I must say that this isn't exactly wrong. At least few of us here, on the PvE side of the forums, have been active enough without blurting out pointless complaints to be considered as 'engaging'.

"So with over 10 million players now playing"
Obvious bullpoo. Probably includes discount buyers and collectors who logged in the game for 15 minutes tops.

The rest is, yes, total bullpoo.

    Except maybe this....
"The same goes for Bloused Boots"...

I used to reply to the same concern a while back. I think it is possible that what we imagined in our request isn't actually what they were picturing when they read it, which then again, I only know what I imagined and not others. This is why DETAILS ARE IMPORTANT, even in our feedback.

From what they wrote, it seems that they were picturing the hard way. That means to add an option for EVERY pants to be tucked in our boots. If so, then yes, they are not wrong. That will require some heavy work around by remodelling every pants available, re-rigged them and re-paint weight them (which is pain in the ***), on top of the coding for the option to happen.

However, I do think that there is a simpler work around though for a limited result for now. And that is by using the available bloused boots model(s) (or remodel a single one) and make it as an item under Pants option that will override the Footwear option (meaning you can't change your shoes/the shoes model is fixed), just like how some items in the Facewear, Eyewear, and Headwear work against each other.

I can answer this as I actually suggested this a long time ago, and on several sites/social media related to this game, in various discussions about different aspects of this game. It just seemed very logical to me, despite any other desires/balancing issues. -- All anyone ever said was "not gonna happen" and "There are more important things". -- Don't hate me. I'm really impressed and happy about this addition. It's rare that a game company see's that (regardless of popularity) and agrees that, it does make sense, then implements it.

Still wondering why "Splinter Cell Blacklist" hasn't been ported to XBOX One S/X, though.. can't beat the Wii U version (because of the GP), but it's still a fantastic game! -- Now they could add some GRW side Ops for a bit of cross promotional content.

Not gonna lie. I myself miss a lot of CQC stealth shooter game and seeing the ability to do so in this game, I've been playing CQC since Closed Beta and making a stealth suit for my character was the first and foremost thing in the full game. I make my character don that and play like a disciple of Fisher most of the time.

The first part of SC special event was challenging, though counting a knock-out with a pistol as a kill was quite distasteful.

Now if only, of course, the rest of the mission can be more Splinter Cell-esque than being Left 4 Dead Unidad Edition.

Yeah, not really interested in getting into a debate about how it was implemented. If the devs didn't already know it was probably a bit over-the-top in difficulty, they sure do now.. They're not stupid, just trying things and seeing how/if it works.

I also don't know what's in their heads with the inclusion of 4th Echelon, they could have lots planned. -- It could be just a gimmick; or it could be an introduction to something much more.

I'd always imagined Sam would replace Bowden as things escalate in Bolivia. Maybe Bowden does her time for going off reservation and comes back as 4E herself? Who knows.. I mean, no matter how you spin it, Nomad is trapped. -- echoing what's going on in the real world. "Terrorists" aren't just a particular demographic, the cartels are very much a part of it. There's always another "El Sueno", even if that person comes from somewhere else in the world, to fill up the vacuum. Fallen Ghosts is a taste of that for example.

Strategically, Bolivia would be hard and protracted to cope with (in the scenario of the game), without the permission of neighbouring countries. Especially Peru to host a carrier support group (they do more than launch jets).

4th Echelon (4E) aren't 3rd Echelon. The two are almost completely different. Jade left Ubisoft a treasure trove (Assault, Panther, Ghost in Blacklist) that fits very well with GRW. -- Then of course, there's following up Blacklist, for 4E too..
