    Worst purchase of my life....

I bought Ghost Recon Gold Edition as it was on sale for only 33€ and as soon as i started the game i was greeted with about 200 notifications that i have new weapons and clown costumes i didnt even want....

I created a character and noticed that as soon as i started playing i had 120 different weapons and attachments that i nether wanted nor asked for.
I dont want space to be taken from my ssd because the devs though players would like 1000 differenct clown costumes and cars that match it.
Atleast let the people who buy the gold edition unlock what they want to instead of throwing all these new things unto a player who just started the game.

I like to have atleast some bit of immersion in my gameplay and i wouldnt call driving around in a bright orange and yellow SUV immersive...
They did the same thing with The Division, you buy the season pass you get bombarded with new things that you dont even need nor want.

Do ubisoft not listen to what the players are saying or are they just completely oblivious and ******ed?

And i know what some will say "you bought the season pass, so you should have checked what came with it" i know i bought the season pass but still i should be allowed to unlock that content when i want to unlock it....

Do what shadow of mordor did and let players unlock it as they please instead of bombarding it at them.

The Core Game is well worth the Money, although the overwhelming Notifications at the Start can be terrible and all that Clown Stuff (Don't click on Narco Road for God's Sake) .

Just create your own Immersion and enjoy the Campaign and the Freedom of Play. Beyond the Campaign... well that's why it's good you only paid 33€...

The only article of clothing, that doesn't require being purchased, earned from challenges, or unlocked from the Ubi Club reward section, that could even remotely be considered as "clownish", is the duckbill hat. Sure, you get three costumes, with the gold edition, but they all fit within the Wildlands environment and even then, they had to be installed separately, at least on xbox. So, if you're on Xbox, you can go into the "manage game" tab, and uninstall anything you don't want. I'm not sure about PS4 or PC, but I'm sure they have a way f **** it as well. .

    I agree.

I would say don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. To judge the whole game or purchase by this seems short-sighted to me but everyone has their own limits I guess.

I would say if you look at it holistically, you're not just getting outfits and vehicles that aren't US mil based, you're also getting some pretty decent customization and gear that wasn't in the base game. Plus as mention you were attracted by the low price. So give it a try before judging it. Once you select your clothing and vehicles, you really don't have to keep scrolling through the stuff you aren't interested in. Truth be told I was a bit put off by most of the local yokle outfits and some vehicles of even the base game at first, but the amount of time you spend looking at them is a fraction of a second compared to the endless hours you can enjoy playing the game. It's hardly something to say worst purchase ever over.

It is a first though. I don't think anyone has complained about having too many weapons and attachments before.

This is modern gamer's idiocracy that is idiotic as publisher and developer who make exploitative after-sales.

Most of the weapons and basically almost every attachments, if not all, are unlockable by playing.

Some of weapons were unlockable for limited time as well through live challenge.

You're talking about a game that features multiplayer. You need to have a synchronized data with every players, whether you want it or not.

And please try to show us these 1000 different clown costumes and cars. I'm curious.

Get your head to the business side. Imagine a bloke saying they bought the most expensive product you offered and they are demanding everything within your product service line outside your initial offer to be free of charge. Does that sound smart to you?

Then the question would be why would you 'call' these bright orange and yellow SUV to drive?

As far as I'm concerned, these are not within our capability to summon them, forgetting that we only have at most 4 yellow vehicles in the game in between darker-toned civilian vehicle and military vehicle.

The game is being supported for a longer time with optional items if you're interested. If you don't want it, then why bother?
If you don't want and need those new things, then sucks to be you, because there are others who may want them.

You put your selfishness aside and try think what you just said with your brain for a second.

That's why at least try to research the product history and understand offers.

You spent more time writing your clueless crap like this by putting your consumer selfishness upfront than you actually are filling yourself with proper information before complaining about it.

@Moderating CMs : I'm fully aware with what I write here. If we narrowed everything out, I would be standing on the same stance as the OP. But despite of being in the same side of disagreement, I DO think there is a clear gap between smart and dumb consumer. Hence the blunt message. Thanks. I would beg you to please keep the post as is, but do whatever you think best.

Pretty sure any problems they have with your post will not be with your meaning, but how you expressed it. Even if you respond to people whom are dishing out personal insults to you they take the same approach with all involved. There is no, "But he started it" with Ubi.

I should know, because I've had 3 infractions thrown at me in the last week just because the fanboys on the AC forums call people childish for not buying their BS excuses for how the franchise has been bastardized lately.

Anyway OP, I know it sounds obvious, but a lot of people this time of year don't realize they're overheated and dehydrated, and they get cranky. It's not as bad a game as you're making it out to be.

I'm aware and I'm willing to make my post as so. That's why I wrote the message to mods at the end of it.

Apparently I dislike gamers like these more than any money-grubbing developers.

I usually pass this kind of thing off as a knee jerk reaction, or in this case overreaction that may have had other triggers like dehydration, anxiety, whatever. If a person makes a wall of text trashing everything about the game or keeps making rant threads, then it's different. I just don't see how one overreaction is going to be helped by another, that's all. To each their own I guess.
