Hello everyone,
After playing For Honors now for a few hours, I came to think that the Friendly Fire DMG dealt is was too low to almost not existent.
It would be quite more interesting if friendly fire deals almost or even the same damage as enemy fire. My thought behind it is to support more even battles. Quite a large percentage of the players simply gang up 3 or 4 vs 1, which actually takes the challenge of fighting other players. By a higher friendly fire dmg output they couldn't gang up as they currently do, since they have to watch out to not hit their teammates.
Of course they will still gang up on a single player, but it gets more challenging to not hit your own players. Also, just a further idea, it would be fun if your respawn penalty gets higher if you kill a teammate by a few seconds, so it is punished if you do so.
I don't mind feedback to this suggestionfrom other players aswell, thou keep it civil. I don't care about anyone who thinks I'm just whining.
Greetings.
Wouldn't this make fights more uneven?
I mean... 2v1 - it limits the attack directions of both against their single target, which will result in an easier game for the single target (higher chance of team mate kills team mate + easier way to defend against both / use it to his advantage). Thats against you primary intention, isnt it?
But I like the idea of kill-team-mate penalty tho.![]()
I don't think it makes it more uneven. Right now, 2 vs 1 is almost always win, 3 vs 1 is always win, acuse the single guy cannot take any action due to ongoing hits from 3 different ppl who dont deal any dmg to their mates. therefore it would be more even for the single person, since those ********er need to time their attacks way better then they have to right now.
First of all:
Thank you for not being that kind of person who disagrees with gankings in a 4v4 mode.
Secondly:
I agree with your idea. Friendly fire should deal the same amount of damage you do to an opponent. But there's a problem to that. It has huge troll potential. I already can see annoying players hitting their teammates to annoy them.
My solutions for that:
-killing a teammate should give your team a penalty of -50 points which should be noted as a -50 in "team kills" for the player who killed his buddy
-100% damage for friendly fire should only be activated if opponents are nearby
Don't get me wrong, i still don't like the idea of ganking, BUT, and its a big but as you can see, its realistic.so it will ever be and forbidding it completely just sucks.
So yes, I am not against ganking in the matter of fact, thou i dislike it. And your ideas to prevent trolls sounds nice, thou its a bit reworkable.
And yes, I saw those trolls already, too. That's why i said there should be a real penalty for teamkilling. well, these days it's even possible for programs to determine in a certain way to say it was an accident or not - even thou it would decide wrong in some cases, it would do right in most. Trolls suck the most. But leaving it as it is right now, no friendly fire damage at all (okay, 1 HP, lul, sorry, being saracastic since its so much!), ****s the balancing up. In my opinion. This games name is "For Honor". You're collecting "Honor" in your fights. even if its a gangup - which is not honorable at all. So make it in that point a bit more realistic and add real friendly fire damage.
I know I am repeating myself, but: It needs mor proficiency to time your gangup attacks, it gives a real penalty if you miss your hit, it makes fights more even and fair. The penalty as such is to the devs to find out. I am just suggesting how to make the game in a MAJOR aspect better.
And thou I feel like some classes are OP, I am just too bad to beat em if they are played by a good player, so no comments there. Friendly Fire thou is a must have in a game like this.
Besides - hitting your teamplayers leads you to an disadvanntage, cause you dont have all 4 fighters anymore.
BUT it can also be used to kill those almost dead teammates after a fight and just revive them again. so it's a free heal for everyone. both types of teamkilling suck in regards of fairness, so that FF is only activated if enemies are close soundslike a nice idea. But therefore, you should determine what "close" means. I'd say that's up to the devs.
