1) I was using the Witchers "Quest" design as an "Example" of how a Huge RPG game that if done more robustly could have added Months to the gameplay.

2) in The Witcher 3 you get Multiple choice question. Then Depending if you answer A, B, C, or D on a "Handfull" of Specific quests you get different prescripted outcomes. (That is not allowing players to figure things out for themselves. Thats giving you a choice of outcomes )

3) go load up the Witcher 3.. Turn off the Map and Mini Map, and try to complete 5 quests and let me know how it goes..
(Hint : if you dont use the Map and Waypoints you will have to randomly walk the entire game in Hopes that somehow you randomly stumble across what you are suppose to do or where you are suppose to go)

4) the game plays itself. Its a Simulated Novel. Remove the combat and a 5 year ild could play through the Witcher 3 frim beginning to end = get quest. Go to waypoint/map location then Get next part of quest go to map location/waypoint finish quest.. Rinse and repeat that quest design 100 times = beat the game (replay the game and make diffrent choices in the quests to get the alternate outcomes)

.....

My point is , that If the witcher 3 :

1) allowed you to actually Figure quests out for yourself,

2) Decifer Clues

3) Books in the game actually having Information in them that could be used in Various ways to add Depth to quest design/deciphering languages/hints on clues ,etc..etc..etc..

4) Variety of quest types in the game besides the ONE quest type there was = "Go here (place marked on map).. then go here (place marked on map). Then go here (place marked on map) Complete quest.

5) a World Map that does not show you the Location of Everything (that completly ruins the Exploration aspect of an RPG = Gee i wonder where "Hidden" treasure are on this great big map....Open Map = Oh all the super secret ultra Hidden treasures are Marked on the map = /BAFFLING... (i think, and i could be wrong about this.. but if something is Hidden doesnt that Imply that you have to Search for it and its not marked on a MAP in Neon lights.. )

.....

The point is.. IF the Witcher had "Various" quest designs, that Players actually had to Figure things out for themselves, where 90% of the content was Not marked on the Map, then the game would have Added Many Numerous Hours spemt enjoying the beautiful game world. ... (Instead the witcher 3 was Paint by Number quest design, Point and Click quest advanacement,no need to even look at the game world. Go where the game tells you. Complete the task the game tells you = Detach your Brain its not needed the game Plays itself. All you need to do is Go where you are told and kill a monster or here some dialog = the end)
