Should Ubi have put a release date out?

I bought TD when it first came out and was really let down with all the problems it had and how long if ever it took to fix them, guess you could say someone taking 100.00 from me on a game is that state I felt was total BS.

So sure I wish Ubi the best in TD2 release but should they have given a release date already?

What if game is in same state that TD was in on release, Ubi showed they will release a game no matter how bad the problems are, so what is guarantee this game will be ready on release and not be another work in progress?

So does ubi wanna make up for crap release of TD by making sure TD2 is ready to be played or are they just seeing dollar signs?

I hope this time will be different for all those buying up front.

Simple solution, really: don't preorder, and don't buy on day 1. Wait a few weeks or months and make sure it's something you really want, instead of just blindly forking over money for it.

That's what I'm planning on doing, and I'm sure many others are, too.

I have no clue but so far I have no reason to believe it does. Things change and I am awaiting more info before I make my purchase. I can deal with bugs to an extent but if they go backwards from where we got in Div 1 in respect to skill builds in PvE. If I can't play my style of game then it's simply not going to be a game I pick up.
I think you should look at the screenshots / vid stills of the gear. There are gears with skillpower stat bonuses. So sk builds will be in.... We just dont know what they are atm. Not fully anyways.

From what Ive seen the power of these builds will be limited in the same way dps builds will be limited, by the equipment, skills and talents (char or wpn) they choose. It will just be at a lesser degree, if the design philosphy they seem to have adopted is consistent across character customization and the way the combat is implemented. It would also be good to see what equipment 'Brands' there are, so as we can see which ones of those will give bonuses to skill builds.

You should also rephrase the question as to will available skill builds be "viable"!? That will be the true question. In what mode(s)? And for every area on the entire map.? Lets be honest...... (and if we cant be honest - lets look at the dev teams history with the game. They are likely to provide viable builds that are likely to be overpowered at the start - if anything. If they havent got their design right they will nerf. Or buff the enemy. Or certain builds. Etc etc. Deja vu...... Bless you! Repeat ad infinitum.

However - that said..... from what Ive seen the npcs wont be as spongy as before.... ofc we are taking about version 1.0 and just the story elements + some early part(s) of the endgame. So even if the ability of skill builds is brought down, it should be to the same degree as what dps/firepower combat will be. Thus making skill builds comparable with what they were during the early the release of the game.

The disclaimer that you, I and everyone should remember is that whatever game we get at release will sure not be the same game we will play further down the line.

The wisest thing would be to do what Trippul G says, and wait it out.

Me personally, I'm not too worried, if I get half of the game enjoyment for the value I've spend on TD1, I will still make a good deal.

If the pre order comes with a nice bonus, I pre order.

Signed up for the closed beta and I'll probably do the open beta. If those don't do it for me I'll buy this used after a price drop. I have stated that I wanted Anthem and I'm going to be getting that first. Nothing I saw so far about TD2 has me jumping out of my seat.
