    Need guidance

So brand new been playing a couple weeks. Just started before 1.8.2 to grind pier resistance mission via match maker to try and get classified gear, dont really have the gear to solo it, tried several times post the patch but seems like every matchmaker no one is in there grinding gear they are in there for the long haul for some other objective so after 3 days of trying have not even gotten one piece.

Tried DZ but with low gear not even worth it. What else can I try and work on to get my first 6 pc sets? I play on ps4.

you can try the LZ bosses..
this is a pretty good map that shows where they are.. each red dot is where the bosses are..
They can Drop exotics and classified gear..

sometimes you can go a few times and not get any, sometimes you can get on a roll and get a few pieces..

Also here is a video of a route you can take..

Myself I usually fast travel as close as possible to either a safe house or a mission to get to them quicker..

    Hope this helps ya out.

Hey Tellahane welcome to the Division.
You could try joining PS4 specific groups stating you are looking for Shield runs in the Piers area, or Classified Armour rewards activities, you may find someone to help.
Keep trying the matchmaking in different safehouses, not just in the Piers area.
Alternatively you should get Classified gear if you run the Light Zone 15 Bosses, which you should be able to do solo if you can not find a team via matchmaking. You should get heaps of General Sets armour so it may allow you to finish a set collection of a GS armour.

There should be another GE, Global Event where standard activities reward you with GE credits which you can use to buy general Classified caches which will give you CS gear from all sets or pay more and get set specific CS armour from usually 4 stated sets on the GE vendor board in the Terminal area of the Base of Operations, BOO.

You can get caches that may have CS rewards from Survival and the Underground, but they are add on activities, depending what game package you purchased.

If you want to be stronger, the quickest way to do this is to recalibrate your GE set. Armour costs in general funds, weapons cost in general funds and also Phoenix credits but choosing good talents can give your gear real power boosts. You can only change one stat on weapons and GE armour, then the set can only be altered with in the range of the selected stat you chose.

You can recalibrate CS armour, general funds, it is advisable to do so before optimizing it as it is not always possible to maximise it via recalibration so you will have to optimize it at extra cost again. Optimizing makes small changes so if a stat is a long way from its maximum it can be very expensive in Div Tech credits to maximise. so choose wisely which ones you change and leave.
Recalibrating CS armour allows you to alter 2 stats before optimizing. It can save you a lot of Div Tech Credits to get them most of the way to their maximum.

DivTech credits can be earned by doing Daily / Weekly activities, for me I miss the Survival run most times as it is time intensive, so my 4 agents do 3 activities at 25 credits per activity, earning 300 per day when all 4 complete the run. You may only have one agents so doing the full daily run will yield 100 credits.

Initially do not finish the last few points on Optimizing but get all up to a close stage then revisit and finish when you can, as a point will cost 50 Div Tech for no or little change but 50 on a low level piece will yield upto 4 maybe 5 armour levels, 277 to 282 perhaps.

Good luck in the Division and get the hang of it in time for the Division 2 in March 2019.

Play the game, earn phoenix credits and buy the classified caches in the terminal. 2500 each.

Yeah, forgot about them, the best way to get phoenix dollars is if you have excess funds to buy the sealed cache from the weapon vendor in the BOO, they pay bonuses in Phoenix Credits, but it takes a lot to get 2500 as it pays 13 - 29 or something like that.

If general cash is tight do the daily HVT you will get funds in Phoenix Dollars and they are manageable but it will take a lot to get a cache.

The LZ Boss run is the best solo bet as you might get a CS piece 1 piece for 2 runs, maybe 2 pieces for 3 runs if the RNG is feeling generous.
I have numerous posts about the poor drop rates for LZ bosses.

During a GE event the LZ Bosses drop CS items when killed and give you funds to purchase GE caches that yield CS pieces.
    Good luck building your collection.

Get 4/5 piece tac if possible they don't have to be classified. Roll all to skill aim for 9k if poss. Backpack mentioned obove or one they gives healing if you feel squishy. Use an AR for distance killing when you need to use a gun and a utility weapon with destruction /damage to elites /predretory on free slot as these proc with seekers to give increase damage health back. Needs to be a low level weapon to get talants so 211/220 gold.
