    FC5 Won't Run on my R9 280X GPU at 2560 x 1440 Resolution

My R9 280X GPU has 3072MB video memory. I can run previous Far Cry games at 2560x1440 resolution.

Far Cry 5 will only run at 1920x1080 pixel resolution. The graphics setting menu shows the video memory in the red regime when I try to set 2560x1440 pixels.

I assume FC5 is hungry in terms of video memory and won't run at 2560x1440 pixels on my GPU. is that correct?

    Hey scussons!

Looks like your GPU is on the lower end of our minimum requirements, which could explain why it won't run the 2560x1440 resolution.
Are you able to run 1920x1080 okay?

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

The game loads at 1920x1080 resolution although I haven't played it yet.

The GPU configuration settings page for 2560x1440 shows a red bar but not for 1920x1080 since my GPU has 3072MB memory.

What GPU memory size is required to play at 2560x1440 resolution?

Looks like you'd probably need about 5/6GB VRAM, we recommend 4GB for 1080p to run smoothly.

You can check our minimum and recommended setups here.
